looks like they don't have the space and time, so they had to cut their losses with it. If they were at their newer unit, i recon they may have done that.

This was the episode that showed most people the series was complete bollocks, the production company behind flipping bangers actually did the early series of wheeler dealers with Paul doing most of the work and finding/inspecting the vehicles They knew this car was scrap when they purchased it and then crushing it with a good engine and refurbished wheels was utterly stupid

I agree, it's bollocks when they barely made 250 quid each a week. Nobody can live on that.

The reason they're rare is they're more trouble than their worth. Never mind the rust, the electrics are the nightmare. This car marque are generally owned by former motoguzzi anoraks who had a mental breakdown and whose anus collapsed.

Ridiculous waste of time- the refurbished wheels were worth between £200-300, the engine/gearbox at least £600-700, the brake valve unit bought online is still worth £100, the excellent interior at least £150-200 and then there are body panels, doors etc. If anyone did actually finish the car and MOT it then the registration is possibly valued at between £250-500.

Could have parked it somewhere and sold pieces and recouped most, if not all, of their investment. The time constraints makes them make poor decisions.

@@pclayton5063 - If they were really serious about making a living out of flipping bangers then they'd sell as much of the vehicle as humanly possible. Unfortunately, a lot of these classics shows are stage-managed and not at all real, and every week more and more programmes appear to jump on the classic car bandwagon. The latest I think is Henry Cole whose knowledge of classic cars is woefully inadequate bordering on inept, but he just has to get in on the act.

Least convincing of all the episodes that I have watched. First the wheels, then the engine , next the interior and possibly the dash , glass etc. Then take the body, or what’s left of it and crush it. The sun total of all those spares would possibly exceed your outlay.

Wayne saw them coming but the good thing about making a TV programme about pretending to flip cars is you can waste time and money pretending to fix up a car and sell it for entertainment value.

Engine out - Wheels off - and sell them seperately. The refurbished brake-cylinder too. You could have solt theseitems all together for 800. Bad decision! A italian can in yunk-yard is a good thing - but sell the parts before seperately!

@@shintoSNR I see this as a kind of "manual" for blokes who whish to make money by flipping cars. It is heavy earned money. Here in ger a lot of immigrants wants to make money by buying cheap and selling expensive. They fail many times. These 2 guys here do a really god job - but if they take their time to sell the car, they could make much more money. Of course it was a tv-produktion. Each of these two guys will make at least 6 digits money a year. Ad the number sureley don't start with a 1. I am tax advisor and see, how much money make these yt-stars. Holy moly!

Somewhat unrealistic to think an Alfa stored god know where and then in old barn isn’t going to be a total rot box. Also engine looked knackered as well - disingenuous to say engine runs great…. Guess a warning to folks out there who don’t do thorough check b4 buying including putting car on ramp first. Also IMHO the seller knew it was a gonner and didn’t exactly advertise himself well on the internet. Alternatively the show was a total set up 😮 I mean who in right mind wouldn’t remove refurbished wheels and new parts before crushing it!, smells like BS but still love the show 😁

It's reality tv nonsense. It's not based on reality. Once you put it on the hoist it's apparent that it too far gone to economically repair it so instead of working and spending money on it you either sell it "as is", strip it or scrap it.

Have to say I really enjoy this programme, but this episode did not end well. There's no way on earth anyone trying to flip cars, after realising they have a bad one , would not have stripped the car to at least claw their money back. The car was worth a lot more in parts, especially being a rare car. I cant believe the guys couldn't see that. On the flip side, it made for sad tv and nice to see a failed project.

That was a professional unit and they stopped renting it for the show after blaze TV dropped them, the 3rd series was produced purely via the production companies money and they struggled to sell it afterwards on streaming which is why the series isn't returning

I've only just come across this video and have to disagree with the comments made about breaking the car for spares. It is not a very common model with most of them succumbing to the dreaded tin worm that most Alfa Romeo's suffered through out then 70's and early80's. Consequently there is little demand for spare parts for this model. Then to break it it needs further time to dismantle when they could be using the time to restore another vehicle. It would probably take months to part the car out and the best place for that is within a dismantlers. The car was a bad buy in the first instant and at times when youneed to make money you have to cut your losses.

They scrapped a " pukka" motor all for media msm likes. As they admitted that would of been good- safe enough to sell on with enough " time", another reason i hate msm+ politics. That was lovely rare car, could of given family lovely ride+ investment. 5 days to do e- bay auctions restorations? Who funds this programme? Still better than Brewers " Wheeler Dealers" BS
