3 time m3 owner here. Just bought a Guilia qv, very different to the na m cars. But it’s a joy..hugely fast , very comfortable but just razor sharp at the same time. My first Italian car, and loving it so far.

@CallMeAK yes I've had mine for about 4 years now. Still very happy. No real issues at 33,000 miles. Other than a dash light once or twice. Just had to be reset. Cheers good luck.

Why does everyone think the Alfa has to be the best, the Alfa has to be competitive which it is, it's up there with the best. Then when you consider a 2.9 v6 against a 4.0 v8 the Alfa is a much better engineering achievement. Long live Alfa Romeo!

the Giulia is not a GT...that M3 is faster BUT it is tuned with wider wheel and stiffer supension ''competition package'' in which you pay more to the M division , beacuse the standart M3 is not M3 enough ?

Theo Pot the M3 Comp is like the C63 S. The standard version (the normal C63) has 476 hp, but the S version has 510.

I have 3 bmw, and even a fan, my powerful e60 v10 m5 is my babe and i drive the other day this alfa, sorry bimmers but i have to admit and say this, Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 2.9 V6 is definitely the best sport sedan in the worls in this moment!!! Best look, best driving, best steering and the motor is a best!!

The M3 is just legendary 🙌. Never disappoints.

Alfa giulia QV number 1

The time and winner will depend on track configuration. Nurburgring Nordschleife is a good track for that purpose because its long and combines better different types of road surfaces and layouts which represent better real world performance. Other than that M3 would be faster on tracks with shorter straights because it could brake pretty good and has a lot of grip and it wont lose on the straight because they're short, Giulia would be faster on combined roads, medium straights and high speed corners, and AMG will only be faster on tracks with long straights.

What s The dúvida? Giulia of course is The best of this 3. By far? Your profissional driver dont make it at their limite.! If he does, it beat The other 2 all day.

Even f80 is the oldest of them 3 it still a WHOLE SECOND faster! I would go for the m3 any day! Best handling car in the segment!

drove the Alfa and the BMW, got to agree the Alpha was best to drive but the gear box on the M3, better interior quality, rear folding seats (these are still meant to be practical cars at the end of the day) and price meant i got the M3.

I did the exact opposite. I drove them both and preferred the Alfa. It was the one I bought. There's something special about it. Can't explain it. It just makes me happy, and I thought the bmw was a bit too serious. It was a nice car, and I liked it, but I loved the Alfa.

It's worth pointing out that the M3 was the pre 2017 facelift model which was available at the time this year came out. It's been said a lot has changed in terms of overall manageability of the car.

The qv is like driving a supercar. The amg is like driving a sedan with the power of a supercar.

I wonder where everyone complaining Alfas are unreliable get their information, because all Alfas since the GT/159 era have been fine, this has been proven in the Europe reliability score where Alfa Romeo scored the best out of any European brand in terms of reliability. Besides it been proven on numerous reviews that the STOCK giulia QV is faster than the M3 competition pack and is the better car to drive both daily and on the track. I'd take the Alfa over the bland Germans any day, gorgeous car.

I love Mercedes and i love Alfa, and tbh no other car ever gave me the same feeling like when i had my Alfa 147 GTA..They feel special and the leather interior was amazing. And I have waited for along time for another special Alfa.. Definitely having the Quadrifoglio now and having a proper LSD fitted.. Both my 147GTA's had Q2 diffs fitted, transformed the car.

I looked at and considered the Guilia Quadrafolio at one time but something will eventually break. The Merc is just plain ugly and a victim of mediocrity. I have a 2017 F80 M3 Competition pack and I'll take the build quality, performance and looks of it all day every day over the other two.

Maybe a Giulia with a sport competition pack would be a better deal...

Couldn’t agree more about the M3. On the streets especially, I have to focus on my driving or it could all end badly in a split second.

I've got a C63S and a Giulia. Much prefer the Giulia. As you can probably tell by my name and avatar. That's how much I love it.

Not for nothing, but Alfa is so new that there is not much data on reliability...I'll take my BMW Z4 with Dinan install over them anytime.

Giulia can be an everyday car. M3 is not too comfortable. Plus to derive M3 performance you better be a race car caliber driver. Otherwise you are not seeing those speeds.

The Alfa all day no questions ask....and I’m sure you held the Giulia back to benefit the M3 it’s written all over your face , your a M3 fanboy.

To help you all in your discussion... watch Chris Harris drive the Alfa, at the end he asks him self, is the Alfa as good as an M3... NO is the simple and straight answer. So, there it is, the Alfa is not as good an an M3! The BMW is the more focused, connected car that demands the driver to be on his toes. That is what makes it so good and fun. I own a M4 and had a day of driving all audi S and RS cars (not the R8). And fuck how boring that was comparing to the hyper responsive and aggressive M4. You can say what you want about the Alfa or MB, but they can not compete whith the M3/M4 when it comes to responsiveness, gearbox, and foucus.

i’m a beamer guy last 15 years been in one and looking to upgrade my 15 m135i looking at m3/4 but i’ve had my head turned by that 4.0 v8 c63s, from what i can see is bmw track car first road second as the MB is road first track second, as a daily i think the c63s wins

The alfa is a great car, but it took decades of studying the M3 for it to be competent, nomatter how good it maybe, it will never be like the M3, the M3 is the original idea of the track in this segment...

You guys dismiss the M3 because the performance is 'too hard to access'... but fanboy over cars that are a whole second slower, in a track test.

alfa has 3.0 engine -mercedes 4.0 and arrive in same time,to be fear alfa better enginering to achieve same result whit 2cylinder smaller engine.

1 sec on track is a lot. I have seen other track results showing the Alfa 2 seconds faster than the MB. M3 is also beaten by Alfa in many other track comparisons. Maybe a lousy racing car driver or the times taken at different tack conditions. They never tell you that. I still have to meet the first M3/4 that is faster than me on track in my QV . Well whatever both Germany and Italy lost WW 2 so maybe the Cadillac is the winner LMAO

How is the amg fastest in a straight when the alfa runs a 11.7sec or 11.9sec and bmw best quarter mile time matches the amg which is a 12 flat.. I've driven the alfa and own a m3 both very good cars only reason why I have m3 over the alfa is cause the bmw have a bigger aftermarket performance parts then the alfa which is alfas only downfall

This was a track battle and the BMW M3 CS was the cheapest and the fastest around the track and it lost ??? I am surprised that the Alfa even last threw the whole testing due to a LOT of issues owners are having with their cars. Alfa are known for problems that is why you never really hear about then for the pass 10 years in the USA ! And yet there are still NO teams that used them in ISMA racing or any other racing organization .

I have the giulia since April 2017, made 55k km and 4 track day at Mugello (time 2.03), is a fantastic car, with a steering precision that even the GT3 has .. when you drive it .. (few have the balls to drive it seriously) gives you emotion that only the various ferrari, porsche, lambo etc. I can give you, believe me and another story of m3 .. at least for now .. you will see with the new .. another positive note the giulia to the mugello the brakes hold .. the m3 no .. the only problem of the giulia that to go strong you have to be able to drive .. where often those who do these comparatives are not really pilots .. to go strong and do not work hard there is the GTR .. I apologize for the errors but I'm Italian and I do not know English ..
