Alfa Giulia QV challenges BMW M3 on Amazing Road - TV Season 2 Ep. 5 | Everyday Driver

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Alfa Romeo has bombarded us with ads about the Giulia Quadrifoglio. It's gunning for BMW M3. We've driven the F80 M3 a few times, but never with the Competition Pack. So we grabbed both cars and headed to a favorite California road for this last episode of our TV Show on MotorTrend Cable Channel.
While other outlets have had breakdowns with Giulias they've tested, we're thankful ours ran without a problem and allowed us to argue the finer points of these two monster sedans.

Folks this is one of the best reviews I've seen of the these two cars. I have owned a C63 and also an older type M3 but I have to say I chopped my 63 in for a brand new AR QF, and yes it has the Italian issues but I love it. What a great drivers car, something sadly the Germans lack. I've done 1500 miles so far and people out there love it. Pull up at a petrol station and people will come over and talk to you, driving on the road people get up close to check it out. Thumbs up from bikers, I'm excited for the future of Alfa Romeo but let's hope my decision is not tainted by the Italian reliability. Big thumbs up guys 👍🏻

suuure, DeBo. "Didn't create shit", and yet Alfa was the most consistently successful racing marque of the entire pre-War era. Then in post-War, Alfa immediately dominated...no, *TOTALLY DOMINATED* F1 for years before Ferrari came along....and guess where Scuderia Ferrari came from, genius. Next you'll be saying something as brilliant as "Nuvolari couldn't drive a taco truck" or "Fangio was overrated"

But EVERYONE who drove this beauty absolutely loves it. More people has to drive this car to save alfa romeo and to make them build many more awesome cars on the giulias platform (sorry for my bad english)

I have driven on proving ground and on the road over a long weekend. I’m so impressed with the Quad. The driving position, the feel of the drive and the power are all awesome. I pretty much didn’t take it out of race mode, after all why go tame. Wow, it’s got enough kick, pace, noise and drama for me. I’ve driven a lot of other cars including the new M5 and this is pretty much up there. A for the M3 I haven’t taken a latest model out, however I have the M5. The M5 is really incredible and can handle everything that I threw at it. You really trust it, after all German engineering. But I felt more passionate about the Quadrifoglio.

n s ...have we really hit a point where we find a car lasting three years without problems...good enough? Resale value will still impact someone down the line. A manufacturer cannot have a product out there with a reputation for reliability issues. Even on leases, how do lease companies get rid of lease returns if they are known to have problems? Someone somewhere in the process has to pay a price for bad reliability reputation....its not like a $50,000 car dropping in value down to $27,000 in 3 years...is somehow not going to hurt someone..somewhere...in the pocketbook...specially if nobody wants to buy it used...unless deeply discounted...and who ultimately takes “that” hit?

  • @zeroceiling

n s ....absolutely true!....”If” all..or most of your buyers are millionaires...then you are right. If, however, you are a mass manufacturer, who depends largely on buyers from the middle class, then you have to be concerned with your re-sale value, and therefore...your reliability.
