Thank you for posting this. I am on the fence regarding ordering a 2022 QV and may need to go with Koshi for the carbon bits as Alfa is dropping the carbon package for 2022.

Superb video. I bought a plastic carbon effect V from China for £12 and it looks amazing on my red Veloce. Although, this carbon one looks better.

Since you mentioned the problems with the V a few videos back I have been keeping a critical eye on the rear spoiler I ordered from the same vendor a year ago for my Ti Sport w/ Carbon Package.

its unfortunate but the aftermarket is infiltrated with cheap and bad carbon fiber parts for almost every car so its tough to know when you get stuff how it will hold up.

It's not that the real part is thicker, it's that it's ACTUALLY carbon fiber all the way through, and properly baked in the autoclave to make it rigid. The fake one is just plastic with a single layer of carbon glued on the outside to make it look real and then clear coated over it.

Is ahacarbon a good option for carbon fiber parts??

I've purchased most of my carbon direct from Koshi or from Jason at Alfissimo. I have some cheap stuff but I know it's not the same caliber as theirs. Can't believe the cheap one came from Madness.

Hey bro, what do you know about JC SPORTLINE carbon fiber products?

Just out of curiosity... how did you remove the carbon grill when it was bonded??? Did it damage the original grill at all? Just got my Koshi grill today here in the UK and fitting it this weekend but would be good to know for future reference just in case. Great videos by the way!!!

heat gun and lots of patience it was a bitch because of the 3M dual mix glue I used, watch my install video to see. then it took hours to get the residue off the aluminum finish with solvent and polishes

3M Autobody Dual Mix but you need an expensive gun to apply it and tips. see if a local body shop can offer to help you

In UK - your green one looks very much like the one I got from eBay for $20. The eBay 'special' was plastic, looked Ok from a few feet away, but was quite 'thick'. The weave (poor) matched your green one that cost over $300 !! Wow.

this first grill is def not plastic it was carbon or black fiberglass with a non UV resistant clear coat which is common on knock off parts these days.

@@autofanaticcars Yep, the eBay one is a plastic with a pattern 'dip' and clearcoat sprayed over. Not bad for the money - from a distance looked fine on my grey Giulia. Just no comparison with OEM carbon as my friend has on his QF, whereas your Koshi part looks really good, and so easy to fit! I enjoy your vids, do keep 'em coming.

Did you have to secure the Koshi one on like you did the other one before or no?

yes all this nonsense carbon has to be bonded on its easy but still ridiculous and I am not a fan

I learned the hard way never to do aftermarket and always go OEM. I forced the vendor to take the shit back though. Gotta push a little. 👊

Any of the cheap Chinese carbon will turn yellow green

Madness supplies koshi product , been using them for years with my 4C never had an issue . However i also bought my piece from koshi that you are having an issue with , it does have the seem etc like your describing , so maybe you just got unlucky .

Just a thought, but I work in the aerospace industry and have taken a few classes on counterfeit parts. The more nefarious crooks will buy a genuine part, then "return" it with a fake!🤬 So Madness might be selling what they thought was a genuine item. Just my $0.02!
