The QV has such a unique tone for a V6. I didn't like it at first, but it has definitely grown on me.

Love the new sound, huge fan of turbo spool. I have a question - what camera and mount setup are you using in the car?

I love hearing the turbos.

Sounds boss. Initially didn't like the idea of modifying a brand new car but that sounds SO good.

Sounds great. And a nice simple safe mod. Did you see that dude’s face on the sidewalk. Lol.

I want to put a stainless worms exhaust on my gt350 and I think it drones a bit. I’m okay with that if you think the quiet exhaust mode will stop it when I’m in the highway taking it for cruises. I have not had an active exhaust before

Have you had any problems with it since? I just installed mine and found out that people have problems when the metal hanger is welded on the exhaust before the flex pipe cause stress and it and breaking completely. Also, did you check for leaks on the back portions? Original clamps are welded and when fully tight, the exhaust still leaks. Thanks

Have a base giulia thinking of getting an exhaust really wanna hear that turbo spool so jealous your quadrafolio sounds nice 👍🏼 good advice installing it too.

I use these stands so often i love them you build them to the size and height you need and for your body frame and there great and inexpensive.

Which model years of the QV are the best to buy overall and why? I like refinement to cut out road noise, but obviously more exhaust noise is better, but I'll prioritize the former.

i think it's the free flow of the exhaust being wide open and the x pipe might accelerate and change the scavenging effect. these cars sound funky until you get thousands of miles on them and the rear muffler breaks in ive noticed.

Great content! Will you consider installing the camber/caster kit developed by GMS? Would be great to have your feedback about it, especially if it brings additional steering feel. Something that EPS are always lacking. Thx!

caster for me never was an issue and when you lower it camber is easy to dial back in we will see. i have the rear adj arms and those make a huge change

Would be great to have more info about the rear adj arms, and what are the benefits. The GMS kit is for the front, and i believe its the first one that can add more negative camber, while not affecting caster as shims do. To the best of my knowledge the QV has more negative camber compared to TI/Veloce, hence possibly not creating that need. But with my TI/Veloce i kind of feel the need for more negative camber. Just very little content on YT about it.

Hi Felix from my experience with this chassis when you lower the rear and have too much camber the car becomes nervous and very sketchy to drive hard especially in the wet. the IRS and multi link rear actually changes the toe settings so rear camber and toe are super critical on these cars to make them feel absolutely neutral and perfect. it also comes down to preference of what you like, with the KW coilover kit i ordered i planned to experiement further with adjusting the rear heights with some rake and lowering the front more but at this rate it might be a few months before i can try because parts are MIA.

@@autofanaticcars Do you have part number for rear adjustment arms. When i lowered my 2019 no camber adjustment for rear.. Think mine is 2 degree neg camber.. Keep up the good vids.. Much appreciated.

Sounds real good. I have a 2020 QV almost identical to yours, even the same color. This X-pipe has been on my radar as well and hopefully I can get to do this real soon. I have another "mod" in mind but do not know if it will work. You may know the answer. Its the DNA knob selector. As you know the 2020 and newer QV's default back to "N" when you re-start the car even though you had set it to "D" the last time you drove it. I noticed that the DNA knob itself is "spring loaded". When you turn the DNA knob to "D" and let go of the knob the knob returns (springs back) to its original location which is "N". So while you are driving you are now in "D" mode but the selector knob is back in the original location and this causes the QV to be in the "N" mode upon start up. Did the DNA knob of your 2017 do this too? Was it also "spring loaded"? Or did the DNA knob stay in the last location you left it in? I was wondering if the DNA knob was changed in 2020 by Alfa and resulted in the QV always returning to the "N" mode on restart since the DNA knob resets itself back to the middle setting of DNA. In other words maybe a simple change of the DNA knob can keep the QV in the last setting. Keep the content coming, learned from your video how to change the oil without taking off the bottom shroud and save all that work.

you can not switch to the older DNA knob it starts in N mode for emissions purposes as its getting stricter in the EU and California.

@@autofanaticcars it's not emissions, but safety. The car can start in N or A, but never in D or R. This has been the case since the DNA system appeared in 2009.

I was debating blowing $8k on Akrapovich but this sounds great for less than a grand. Ps. You're 100% right - car is way too soft from the factory.

would you consider the 20inch Stelvio Wheels together with the kw coilover on this car?

no way they would bend and crack in days with 20s the tire profile is just too small and dangerous for NYC roads if I lived in FL or elseware 100% i would do 20s or even 21s

Seen a 2018 competizione red with ST Springs and 20" Stelvios some days ago. Amazing stand. absolutely spot on.

Dang it!! I was hoping I could do the rear seat drop mod to get more sound... but I have a 18 :(

I am considering increasing tire / wheel size on my 2020 Giulia QV to 295 Rear and 255 Front , leaving it them at 19". Would moving to a 20" footprint with wider wheels etc. negatively impact the cars performance ? Michelin SS or S4 shoes , I'd like to have the wheel wells filled a tad more , but, not sacrificing any performance . . . thoughts ?

lower the car and get wheels with better offsets that works wonders. 20s look great but are heavier wheel and tire which does affect ride quality and handling of course. the tires for the 20s are like rubber bands and this is risky if you live in an area with bad roads like NYC

Hi Sandro i tried the 295 on the OEM wheels and did not like how it looked and on my black car with the lower suspension, wheel spacers it rubbed. if the rear wheel was 1/2 wider it would be great i think. the 285 Michelin 4s has been impossible to get in the states.

@@autofanaticcars Thanks always for the prompt replies appreciated! Sorry I left off an important element - I am contemplating moving to an HRE wheel setup , likely 10.5 - 11 max on the rear . . . They are telling me that moving to a 255 on the front may rub and that the Corsas while 285, they are a slightly smaller 285 - - so if i run with the Michelin Pilot Sport S4s, that I may just be fine with 285 and 245 setup. Thoughts ? Not attmepting to belabor the topic, however, as you stated in your videos, performances & aesthetics are very important :)

So I have a Alfa. If I wanted a QV do I need to get it shipped over here ??? Like if the dealer doesn’t have it how do I get one.

one of my customers had it on his 2017 i thought it sounded pretty good but it was built terrible that the dealer removed it off his car and installed the Akropovic Titanium which is a work of art

Did you have any issues with either of the exhaust hangers having no clearance with the chassis? Just installed this on a 23' QV. Driverside exhaust hanger was so close to the chassis I could hardly get the bushing on. Is this normal?

yeah it does these cars sound sweet and over time get better as the rear muffler gets snappier

I've got downpipes on the car now and the TFL x-pipe coming. I just couldn't go with the Centerline after talking to some exhaust professionals who kept confirming that such a direct X like that magnaflow piece gives a deeper sound and a wider cross-section makes it sound more exotic. I definitely wanted the more exotic sound

I installed the X-Pipe on my MY21 Giulia QV and i am absolutely NOT happy. Idling sound and low rpm sounds deeper and really good. But the whistling sound (its clearly hearable in this video) when you floor it and the fact, that you eliminate all the nice shifting pops and cracks makes me hate it! Will definitely go back to stock and look for something else…

sounds like you have a defective X pipe if you are getting any whistling noise this is common at the flex joints and weld area. Consider our stainless resonator delete kit it sounds way better, cheaper, fully 304 stainless and easier to install. Visit our website for info and sound clips

But you don't drive it hard, you just high revving. if its pleasurable its fine

Great sound. But I'm not sure why the downshifts sound lazy. I mean comparing it to Porsche PDK which sounds crispy. Maybe its the rev hang in the Alfa

@@autofanaticcars give the throttle a light blip on the downshifts as if you were rev-matching. You'll increase the likelihood of a downshift crack. I basically do this 100% of the time now

on the drive by clips this was done during a very busy time of day with traffic so i had to let off throttle much sooner than I would have preferred I was only doing maybe 45mph max then had to slam brakes to slow down. the traffic lately is unbearable but i will find a remote location to shoot more dry by clips one day

Any reason you haven't entertained the idea of having a reputable exhaust or performance shop locally make you a custom CBE. You'll get exactly what you want. It should also be a lot quicker turnaround and more economical as a pleasant byproduct.

@@autofanaticcars FWIW there's plenty of good fabricators down here in PA. One in particular that already makes a few things for the Giulia QV. You're only a 1-2 day road trip away from getting something made for you brother.

I had a 2018 C43 AMG and I was told by a muffler shop that an x pipe on a turbo car will not make a difference to the sound. Judging by your video they are clearly wrong. I have a 2017 QV and this mod would definitely be on my radar!

@@autofanaticcars They actually fold down. Shocking right? Must be a 2018.5 if you will, maybe the factory transitioned a little early and they had the tooling and infrastructure to begin installing it on a few 2018s.

I did oval sidepipes with spintech mufflers on my 1970 Mach 1 Pro Touring car the neighbor called the police and they threatend to impound the car with the flames shooting out of the pipes and 8 stacks on the 427 it was wild and gave the lady a heart attack at 11PM ha ha ha

@@autofanaticcars on mine, flames shot out the sides when i backed off. funny story. because they needed to come out further from under the doors to pass Tx insp, i wrapped cardboard around them to extend them about 5". i then painted them flat black (it actually made the int quieter for a bit) and i passed! no a/c. clutch like a semi. fancy manifold, headers, hurst 4 speed, traction bars, dual point dist, holly 4 barrel. a beast. my "stereo" was a reverb.

On newer qv yes the 17-19 no fold down seats but cars were much louder since the heavily isolated the cabin in 2020 on

damn i love this car, everything about it, from the interior to how nimble it looks! I would get this over an m3 any day of the week!! So much character and passion can be felt when driving the Giulia QV I also agree with driving it and leaving it in lower gears for the sound but you sacrifice your MPG but who cares about that when you're drivin this beast ahhahaha

Watched you do the same mod on your old black car and I promptly ordered same x pipe for mine... Took a while to get it delivered to the UK and was a bit pissed at having to pay import duty.... ( Thanks a bunch Donald Trump !) anyways... made the car sound a whole lot better for not a great deal on money compared to complete exhaust systems..... You can get an ecu chip upgrade aswell to Stage 1 tune 616bhp and exhaust valve control/ delete and gearbox mod.. Celtic Tuning over here in Cornwall and NJS near Pershore offer that. Regards.. Rog

it seems to have changed quite a bit once i hit 595 miles the car feels way better than it initially did during break in mode. there is one new suspension mod i made, new video coming that made a huge difference to the front end stay tuned.
