Im sure Alex himself could still do this justice and get it back in the charts, Great for the real music lovers of the era out there, and the new kids on the block might just start getting the taste for good music of old too? Tunes like this were produced to impress people, and they have and still do. the music world and its fans need good tunes like around to remain with us forever. Alex if you reading this, you're still the man to bring it to the forefront yet again....respect !

He was not the lead singer of the time. Morris Day was Prince wanted him to be the lead singer but once he saw him he changed his mind. You should check out the series unsung they did an episode on this and Alexander O'Neal said it was basically his skin color. He was a bit too dark.

When Prince brought them aboard Morris was going to be their Drummer and Alexander as lead singer, however Alexander quit and Morris got moved to lead singer and the group was renamed the Time. In fact the band playing on this song is the Time. So it was kind of a reunion for them. If you ever have the chance pick up Morris's autobiography he goes into great detail about their history

Alexander ONeal is a wonderfully talented man with a voice that's very identifiable. Most of his songs are a bit slower, lovey dovey sensual too! Two members of the Time ,, went solo Jesse Johnson and Alexander ONeal! Of course Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, two of the best producers ever always come to mind when you hear the artists they've been involved with turn to gold! Many of the girls and women are wearing big fake eyelashes, inflating breasts and lips, he eyebrows can be tattooed or the new processes they've come up with, fake fingernails and some are putting in tush implants etc. Then you have Fake people pretending to be another. Totaly made the 80's the decade to remember what a legend Alexander O'Neil is ! When ever i listen to his tracks i feel like i am transported back in time so many happy memories i owe to you on the dancefloor.

Nah it had to do with a conflict between big-mouth Alex & huge-ego Prince. But again, I think the whole Time concept worked better with Day out front. Of course, Alexander sings rings around Morris, but The Time was never really about singing talent --It was about the tightness of the band & the whole attitude of COOL.

Alexander is a legend. This song makes me happy and brings me so many memmories. Thank you for posting this.
