Khabib is a great fighter but terrible socially. It would make for a boring interview.

If the fight comes down to heart and grit and guts...no-one beats Volk. He's got that sewn up. Super strong mind and self belief. But you *really* don't want to be the smaller and lighter opponent to an elite Dagestani wrestler...who is used to throwing around, holding down, and dominating larger heavier guys. Volk has a very narrow path to victory in this.

i think thats the most likely result. if islam can get volk in the holds brian ortega had him in (which he can) there is no shot volk escapes. that being said volk is very quick and hits hard i think his only chance is if he start rocking islam early and can stop takedowns. id say 85% chance islam wins but i think volk beating him is possible

There’s a reason there are different weight devisions and it’s not because of striking differentials it’s because of wrestling. Everyone knows volk can strike and is very fast but at the end of the day it’s a guarantee that at some point the action will go to the ground. volk has not competed against anyone on the level on Islam, Islam made the submission king tap VERY FAST. T city was able to lock in a tight sub and is no where close to the level of Olivera’s offensive sub game, when that happens with Islam he’s not getting out there’s levels with wrestling and grappling here. Volks only chance is to get a lucky clip and knock Islam out which every UFC fighter has but if he’s not lucky it’s going to be a quick one

Everyone said that to him his all career, and look at him now. "He's too short", "To small for Holloway", "Not good enough" etc... Everyone seems to forget he played rugby aggainst 300 pound dudes at least (and 6'' +), If Alex can keep up with Islam's takedown attempts he will definitely outscore him. Also, he has a reach advantage over Islam and Alex' striking is second to none, he's like a mini Adesanya but with speed and power. Islam just won a title and everyone is hyping him up, he's striking is allright but I haven't seen Khabib level of dominance in the ground, I don't think he's on the same level.
