Funnily enough, they do. Spiders differ from many insects in that they possess a book lung, which is a specific organ for gas exchange. Most insects just breath through pores in their exoskeleton into a network of tubules through their tissues. Though book lungs are very different from a human or mammalian lung.

Task: Alex has to interact with Lucy Beaumont and Bridget Christie for one hour. He has to carry on polite conversation, and every time he says "what?" or shakes his head in bewilderment, he has to dance and sing for 30 seconds.

I must've rewatched Bridget's interview at least 50 times, and I will always crease up at her nearly giving Alex a full-on breakdown near the end

Chris's answer "the inside of my eyelids" should be appreciated

Well, Alex isn't really counting. Either the crew is, or its done in post, so they wouldn't have gotten anything. Some of them did ask, and Alex just responded with "the meter is broken"

I was curious so I looked it up and..... it's complicated. Many spiders have lungs, but many have trachea (hollow tubes that run through their bodies) instead, and a lot of spiders have both. They do not have diaphragms like we do, all their breathing happens passively. Their lungs are also very unlike ours; they are called "book lungs" because they look kind of like the pages of a book, and some spiders have two pairs of them. since the video is at least a year old...and he doesn't run the youtube account...I am gonna say it doesn't help a single person outside us nerds....the fact you didn't know should show how much you understand about the world outside your tiny lil home... its not complicated, all animals have lungs, I guess you don't know the definition of lung...its an organ that draws air in where it gets absorbed into the blood stream. Even if you don't have the same type of lungs doesn't mean you don't have them...take a type of salamander who breathes through its skin, that means the skin is the lungs......seems like your mind gets stopped by these restrictive words that make you confused? you should probably work on your critical...thinking and logic, what happens to a spider that is put in water...it drowns, why would you need to look up something when the answer is that obvious? Like seriously, big red truck

At first I was surprised Bridgit was at least kinda close but then I realised Alex was the one who stopped I think he just mentally gave up

The first time I saw this I just thought that Bridget wasn't adequately co-operative, but now I love her and think she was absolutely perfectly unco-operative. And we all know she has problems walking so it wasn't fair anyway!

I feel so similar, I was honestly annoyed with Bridget the first time I watched this season because it felt like she was being deliberately obtuse-- but once I'd seen all her tasks & things like this, I opened my mind a bit & appreciated her unique perspective and the insanity it wrought, and this is honestly one of my favorite series/casts now!

@@DeathnoteBB I'm sorry I said I found her annoying at first! The fact that I did a complete 180 on her, IMO, speaks to the fact that the failure to understand was a problem on my end, not hers. When I finally let her break the rules a little bit in my mind of what a Taskmaster contestant is supposed to be, I realized how spectacularly unique and wonderful she is. I'm willing to bet that most of those people started in the same place as me and just never took the time to have that 180 and realize that she actually rocks

you would also lose....polite conversation still involves replying, specially to things you have no opinion of or even the opposite opinion...Id question what you find to be considered Polite, and probably find out you're rather rude...so youd lose. your critical thinking is way off dude...if thats how you problem solve then I would love to play a game with you, Id be guaranteed to win because your lack of understanding what words mean...
