Starting off with lures I recommend #2 popper or spinner 2/3 twitching and the time of day I recommend is 12pm to late evening and he will be there just be sure to look around carefully it might take a few cast before he bites (sometimes) now for rod set ups I recommend the free 27lb rod and reel from South Africa or the 44/55lb baitcaster rods in the shop paired with the 44lb mediator reel.
