My greatest friendship ended a while ago

I build many best friends, but I always screw it up and they leave me..Alec Benjamin is my new favourite singer..!

It feels like he wrote this song about his friend that he'd lost as he move into another place. It's like they're still seeing each other but there was already a wall between them. They used to have fun together and even thought they can be friends forever but it turns out, time and distance can slowly destroyed their friendship and it actually did. Maybe this is not what the song is really about but for me it is because of the two of you.

I buried my dog a few days ago. We had just returned from vacation a few days prior and we thought she was normal and ok. I woke up to my parents crying and seeing her on the floor, gone. I pet her one last time as my father buried her. I’ve cried every day since and can’t stop thinking about her. I miss her so much

God this reminds me of my childhood I used to imagine I was in crazy situations and that I had friends I got made fun off for "talking to the air" but it helped me cope because I was terrified of people I always have been. I'm terrified of getting hurt but I think I'm learning how to keep friends it's not easy but I at least have some people around me now.
