Thanks for the video. In addition it will be more effective if you remove the protection shields of the bearings.

Good info. I'm just now getting serious about 1/10 touring car racing and I found this video very informative. Thanks!

Brilliant video Simon. I switched to racing mod TC a few years ago so I sold my SkyRC motor analyser. Could you do a video on how to set timing with a multimeter? Thx!

Hey Michael, search for Nick Adams' channel, he has a video called blinky brushless motor sweet spot how to set. He goes over how to do it there. Nick unfortunately passed away a few years ago, but his videos and knowledge are still available.

What are you using to discharge your batteries at 3C between races

Hi Simon. Iam racing 17.5 stock with hobbywing xerun xr10 combo. What battery can you recommend for smaller size outdoor asphalt track with apx 10-15 meter straights. I would like to get good practice time. Multiple 5 min runs if possible. Iam not racing competitively. Only for fun. I was thinking of the IP battery with 7000mAh. Do you know how long I will be able to practice with a battery like this? Its affortable, so I could potentially buy two.

Hi, 7000mAh is a pretty good capacity: I think you may be able to get two 5 minute runs if careful but given it’s a short track with lots of acceleration and deceleration you should be careful with gearing, higher number FDR like 3.8 to 4.0 perhaps? Also don’t have the motor timing set too high, that way you can get the most out of the battery. If you are doing two runs be careful the voltage on the LiPo doesn’t fall below 3.2volt per cell so total 6.4 volts. To be on the safe side if your ESC has a voltage cut off set it to 7.0 or minimum 6.8 volts. If your ESC doesn’t have this feature then bring the car in halfway through second run and check the voltage, if it’s ok carry on then check voltage at the end of the run so you can be sure it’s in the safe zone. Cheers

So basicly you gear up to certain temperature more than trying to find right ratio for every track. I run fwd car with 17.5 outlaw motor and i've been wondering if i should lower the fdr for less torque/wheelspin or going even higher fdr for smoother throttle input?

Can't really get the xractor any more cause it's discontinued....is the slot machine a suitable replacement? If not what have you found

Yes slot machine is the replacement effectively. Mine had bad phase alignment so just got another sensor board. Hobbywing G4 excellent also and they always have good build quality

What voltage do you discharge your batteries to after a heat , what do you use to get 3C discharge rate

I go to 7.4 volt, 3C is 3 times the capacity, so if you have a 6000mAh battery 3C would be 18 amps

I like to drive 1/10 touringcar again but the hobby is dead in the netherlands. No indoortracks or shop for parts
