I'd never seen so many salty people after Beck won this award. For a man who wrote an album in his kitchen ALONE and produced the majority of it himself (his producers he's also recognized) I think he actually deserved this award. Most people I know personally who didn't like Beyonce losing this award only like one type of music and to me, liking only one style of music is equivalent to only liking one type of food and that's ridiculous. Oh, and Kanye West needs to be banned from award shows. He's out of control.

Harold H there's nothing funny about a man listening to Beyonce. It's made for the lowest common denominator of people: women, especially women of color.

I can see why people get upset about this whole category. However, some people are taking it too far. Mind you that I am such a huge Beyoncé fan. I'm a hardcore ride or die for that girl. However, I am much more of a huge fan of music in general. Beck won and he deserved that award. I believe all of them should have won that award, in my opinion. Everyone is devaluing his artistry when he worked just as hard as any artist did. Good for him.

Beyoncé was mainstream so obviously everything she does would be always talked about, the based criteria for AOTY in the Grammys has always confused me because both quality, production and the overall work was fantastic with BEYONCÉ (it also has a 85 metacritic that year) and it was literally the Album Of The Year

He deserved the win...Morning Phase, while not my favorite Beck album was truly beautiful & the production on was so lovely. Even Ye agreed after the fact...lol

He is to me lol. I wasn't always a Beck fan. Then I really discovered him. He has a WILD catalogue of music from down right f***ed up to down right awesome. But, if you actually listen to it, even the stuff you don't like at first grows on you. Before you know it, you realize you love the sh*t. Beck could have been bigger and more popular, but I think he CHOSE to take a more conservative path. That's also why I love him so much because he's NOT overly famous and a sellout. He's my special discovery, and I'm sorta glad he's not overly popular as strange as that sounds lol.

Im listening to this album as I type here. I get it why it won 3 Grammys.

I want to embed this image in my head, because sadly that was the last time Prince presented a Grammy.😢

Here's the thing tho. Even tho Kanye didn't say anything he made his message clear and lowkey ruined Beck's speech bc nobody was worried about it after what Kanye did

Yeah, that was messed up how Kanye did, Beck. Beck is a really talented musician, and I feel he AOTY win was well deserved. Beyonce can't win every category she's in just because she works hard. Everyone else works hard as well

First of all I’m a Beyoncé stan like no other. When she lost to Beck Damnnn was I mad! I even cried. I wanted her to win so badly since she had never till this day won this award. That being said, there’s something i just noticed after Prince announces the winner. The woman talking goes…Producer: Beck hansen period. That tells me an artist that actually does and produces his own music deserves to be given the credit that he deserves. So be it.

Prince 😭😭😭😭 #RIP

A few days after this he filed for divorce. So he was actually in a bad place emotionally. I notice that he thanks his kids but not his wife. I notice winners tend to thank their partners as a priority. His wife seemed genuinely happy for him. Its heartbreaking.

Actually not true, Beck filed for divorce on February 15th, 2019. He won this Grammy in 2015. Of course this isn't to say that he wasn't in bad place emotionally at the time, I don't know who can say if he was or wasn't except for Beck himself.

Why others think that Beck didn't deserve this award? :'(
