The Albany Historic Whaling Station is unique in that you can explore and learn about the entire whaling process, including a retired Whale ship.
It can most definitely be confronting, history without holding any punches. Make sure you do not miss the video interviews with the staff, it is informative and worth a listen.
Your entry fee also covers the adjacent wild life park & garden but I found I ran out of time.
