Make sure all of your doors open to the outside and are extra fortified and your windows need heavy duty shutters or metal grills over them also outward opening in case you need a hasty escape. He was marking his territory which means YOU are in HIS zone. Live stock and pets are in eminent danger.

I'm no expert and appreciate bears and the live let live approach. But from what I've read from the experts you had an opportunity to send a message to that bear that he/she must be afraid and stay clear of your cabin or get a buck shot to the rear. As of now you and anyone visiting you is in danger. I wouldn't want to walk outside after cooking breakfast.

That cabin can't be safe if the bear decides to pay a visit later on at night..

Not to include the well-intended, unsolicited advice but people can be such ignorant pukes these days with their comments. (I have been guilty myself) Lol. I am sure you know what you are doing or you wouldn't be up there. I would like to say...THANK YOU for sharing the video and I really enjoyed it. Its great footage and I appreciate the upload. Never have seen them roll around before so that was great. Thanks again.

Bears are curious.Maybe some type of bear deterrent would be a good idea. They are just too dangerous to be able to come that close.

I bet your name is of scandinavian or germanic heritage and you already know that, but Angstman(n) means Scary/ Scared Man in german. Damn i couldnt relax anymore if bears that size would feel comfortable in my garden.

We have encountered dozens of bears around our cabin. We live on a large lake with spawning salmon. The bears congregate in August and September to feast on the dead salmon and abundant berries. We are careful around them. They are quick to depart when they see us. We would never shoot a bear just for walking by our cabin.

I found a canned air horn that is used on boats work well for sending critters away. As good as bear mace, but safer. I have even sent skunks away. And big cats HATE them. When hiking I carry both canned air horn and bear mace. Can never be too safe.
