I made a gadget lile thos while fishing one day. I used a .22 blank. Really got creative when i made it start a fire when tripped also. So it lit the site up with light also. . . Shot gun shell would wake the dead.

Perimeter alarm mines and blank 12 guage shells are legal in the uk. Surprisingly. I think they want to ban anything noisy, pointy or could be remotely used as a weapon. Soon we'll be cutting steaks with spoons if the nancy govt get their way oh and charge us extra tax for it too.

Yes, you can easily and legally buy shotgun blanks in the UK and the alarm mines are legal to use so long as you don't set them up to injure somebody. Also you don't even need a shotgun certificate to possess normal live shotgun cartridges (source: Home Office "Guide on Firearms Licensing Law" November 2022, page 17, 2.57)
