Alanis is an Ottawa girl, just like me!!! I met her when I was 14 and she must have been 16 years old. She was a big pop star in Ottawa back then. She was signing autographs in a shopping mall. I still have the tape she signed for me and pictures my dad took that are somewhere in a photo album!!! Lol.

Used to run the streets of Brookhaven-Atlanta with Alanis blaring in my ears. I’d run until I got purposely lost & have to find my route back home. I ran from the early 90’s-the early 2000’s. How I miss those times! Hearing Alanis’s music never fails to make me smile with memories of those crazy-wonderful times. Blessed years of sorting my shit😬😳😱

Alanis dropped JLP in 1995 & completely threw me into a tailspin that I never expected. I have every album since then, many with exclusive tracks only available at one store. She has held consistent slots in my phone/mp3 player/cd changed/jukebox (yes, 45’s), etc since 1995 & she gets better & better with time. Most singers described as “angry” or “angsty” end up committing suicide after a show or the likes in a hotel room. Alanis has succeeded in gaining happiness & finding Love & a family as the years have passed. For that, I’m both happy for her & for those of us who love her music & attitude toward life. It would have been the loss of a lifetime outside of my family & close friends to lose her in such a tragic way. So I never was bothered by her finding happiness & singing about it while others got angry that she “didn’t stay pissed off”. I certainly would have LOVED a JLP 2.0, so to speak. But I’m not angry it was not to be. This was a delicious display of talent by her & she never fails to leave me in awe at her voice!
