I have this DVD and have watched it a thousand times over the decades and this never fails to bring me to tears. Dear Prudence has been my all time fav Beatles tune and this version is absolutely gorgeous. Just so blown away by the artistry. Fantastic work of art right here. ❤️

Its a nice tribute BUT Siouxsie & The Banshees version blows this and virtually all other covers out of the ocean.

Sublime version, usually reluctant to listen to covers of the beatles this girl hit the nail on the head.

Fantastic cover. Absolutely love the instrumentation here, gives it a more modern sound, while keeping the psychedelic feel of the original.

I hate covers but she took this to another place... she completely did beyond a fantastic job...John himself Rip smiled and clapped

I love Alanis she does not sing words, she plays them with her voice.

Alanis touches very special fibers within me....coupled with one of my fav Beatles' song, the result is utter joy & gratitude.

Beautiful..... I was born in 1956. And I certainly do Not have her talents. I was introduced to her music and lyrics by my teenaged daughters... ha ha Yes! And this IS by far, one of my favorite Beatles' songs. Mainly because I relate So Much to it!! In the '70s, I felt it was 'my song'. Funny how music relates to us in it's many forms and decades and talents.... Much Love

Love this, so beautifully cynical, but possibly true - Hoffman may be a deeply moved fan, but he’s playing the game on an international stage x

Jerry Garcia band is my favorite version for sure

Crap, it's 20 years ago, and I only see it now. It's perhaps rushed, but she captures it nicely, my most favourite of all the Beatles songs. It's their perfect song, an equal half of their world changing glorious pop sensibility, and their prog brilliance that followed.

It hurts so much to hear Dustin Hoffman talk about peace and unity. Especially so soon after 9/11. Where did we go wrong?

That was just the beginning. The world in 2021 is more fucked up than ever before. No lessons were learned from 9/11. More innocent lives were lost in Iraq than at the world trade centre, terrorism can come from all sides and now the super wealthy are wealthier than ever and it's pick your side, it's gotten progressively worse. Losing John Lennon was one of the worst things imaginable in our lives but I'm sure he's in a better place now, .. he's definitely not missing much here on planet Earth in 2021. Greed, selfishness, climate change, bullying from world powers, hate and shit music,....and I think to myself.....

I love this arrangement/version and how she makes it her own but it's as good as John's.

Dear Prudence, you ought to know it's ironic.

This could have been great. Alanis has an unusual singing style, but she is too low in the mix. Worse, the band punted on the minute-plus rolling drum fill toward the end. It is the signature element of the song.
