Some people think that's spit coming from her mouth. But if you look closer, you will clearly see its more the combination of soul, funk, blues and rock n roll in kickass liquid form.

This is a bad ass song for couples who are in a hate and love relationship for real !!!!****
Just like everyone else, I didn't know who Alabama Shakes were until they were showcased at the Grammys and won awards. The Grammys have been a joke lately, but it is nice when the get it right and recognize real talent and give acknowledgement to artists we wouldn't normally hear about. Listening to the album Sound and Color now. I'm a R&B and Hip Hop guy but they are pretty addictive. Love their energy
I love this song. She's great and I love the guitar playing. Excellent

+Darrien Day hey so that guitar solo whats the setup? a very vintage hollow body guitar, which fuzz?
@iwillnevergetone5
8 жыл бұрын
+Ignacio Pezo so from what i can tell, during his solo he's definitely using a fuzz (instead of just an overdrive) with the threshold set pretty high, it almost has a glitch-like characteristic to the tone. Also his guit looks like a regular Sheraton II model, not necessarily vintage. and i'm thinking his reverb that's on throughout the rest of the tune is also engaged during the short solo he does at the same time as the organ as well. just my guess though
@iwillnevergetone5
8 жыл бұрын
joesl8 That's true. We also don't know what compression they used in post while editing the entire session, that could definitely play a factor in the tonal quality of the fuzz as well

I love this band so much, words can even describe how this album changed my life.
Every 15 to 20 years somebody comes along and just makes music that sounds different than everyone else. It always seems to be blues/soul based. The great thing about Alabama Shakes is that none of them look like rock stars, which means it’s the music that matters. Drink this group in because this will be one of those “remember when” artists who redefine a musical generation. On a softer note....why is the bassist so dam chill?!

Colombian writer Mario Mendoza made a mention of this song on his latest book (2018) "Diario del Fin del Mundo". Think how far and influential this band gets into people, and how their music is so powerful.
That sound at the beginning of the vocals is her braking for the rest of us to catch up with her musical genius.
The intro of her doing that guitar riff was incredible. Her confidence, her talent - ridiculous!
