Makes you realize how ridiculous the rules were about paying players back then. The Florida basketball team was going to win back to back and yet they were left alone with no food in a hurricane and no car? So stupid and I’m glad the NCAA has woken up

They haven’t woken up. The NIL is ultimately still pennies to what the athletes actually deserve. They deserve money from the schools/television/shoe contracts etc. It’s nothing more than a distraction and unfortunately it worked. Nobody is barking at the ncaa anymore to pay the players because of these little deals.

That Florida team is so underrated... I don't think if you go back in history can you find to many collegiate teams who could deal with Joakim and Al. Plus Green, Brewer, and Humphrey on the perimeter... plus added size in NBA bigs Speights and Richards..... and let me make this clear, its not a skill thing, its a want and desire thing, and defensively the team was as good as they come at this level. Whatever Donovan was selling, they were buying in... They never were really phased by the pressure, especially coming back, forgoing the NBA, putting all the pressure on yourselves to repeat and they did that... and I honestly don't know if you will ever see that many NBA guys return and win it again, Al was humble with that one. Their first run I believe they beat everybody in the tournament by 10+ points, and then the 2nd year they run into Oden, Cook and Conley and covered by 9.
