We're so psyched to bring you this episode of The Old Man and The Three with NBA veteran and Boston Celtic, Al Horford. It was such a treat talking to Al about his storied career. Topics include: JJ and Al discuss the time they almost played together on The Philadelphia 76ers, Al on playing with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, various ways he's seen The NBA change over the years, various ways he's changed his game personally and how he went from a midrange master to a great 3-point shooter, playing and losing to LeBron James and The Cleveland Cavaliers five times in the playoffs, what makes LeBron so dominant as a player, thinking back at those awesome Atlanta Hawks teams with Joe Johnson and Kyle Korver, what the best version of this Boston Celtics team looks like both offensively and defensively, remember Stephen Curry's series-changing moment last year in Game 4 of The NBA Finals between The Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics, Al shares an AMAZING Joakim Noah story from when they played for Florida and so much more.

Yep AL was an Allstar top 4/5 physical mid range monster his first few years with Atlanta and he's extended his range considerably & consistently. Every year he's been a formidable asset & play maker on both ends. Match-ups that he's outsized he uses his agility, IQ & discipline. There's really a short list of individuals that are better than AL on both sides of the floor & in those matches he's often able to elevate his game to match or nullify that advantage significantly for his team. Perfect vet to play with Smart, JB&JT.

Isn't 6 man award for a guy that comes off the bench!? Quickly only started 16+ games because guys were hurt and so, in theory, he came off the bench as the 6TH MAN and he showed it in those games that the team needed him. Also Quickly is a menace on defense.
