Al Horford was one of the first players I watched as a kid at Phillips Arena. (I'm 26) That 2014-2015 atmosphere was amazing. I'm glad he's still going.
My pride and joy of the NBA. One of the few Dominicans we have in the league, and boy what a player and joy to watch. The consummate professional, poised veteran, tremendous leadership, and a laser focused dog on the court! 🤝🏽🇩🇴

I'm not Dominican, but I am Latino and I have thought about visiting DR solely on the stories that Al and Big Papi have given over the years. Seems like really loving, grateful people. Al has been my favorite non-superstar player for years, amazing game and leadership and glue guy. I wish the Celtics had won that title last year so he could have made his grandfather even prouder... I cried when he lost his grandad..... Maybe this year..

Man as Celtics fan I really love this humble smart man! I was pretty sad he went for that check couple years ago but understood and respected the choice. And now I´m superhappy Brad brought him back and that he´s been arguably best version of himself ever.

so happy for al making the finals last year, he somewhat revitalized his career.
Any time in the past 6 years the Celtics have been a contender, Al was on the team. The times of most doubt were the couple years he wasn't here
So underrated he’s really adapted well to the current environment and it shows he’s been putting in the work. Thanks for all the parlay wins. I can never go wrong with him 😂😂😂

I’ve been requesting this interview since last summer! Glad to see we’re finally getting it!
Gold content. The way this guy adapted to the current way of playing is AMAZING. Much love and respect to Big Al 💚 Go Cs!
Al comparing the way the league is going to society’s desire for instant gratification was not something I was expecting lol. I can dig it
Love watching Al on the court, enjoy listening his well thought oit and measured interviews, consider him a human being of the highest order and wish more people learn from him of what it means to ne a true gentleman. Respect 🙌🫡
Absolutely the best vet in the nba you can tell he’s such a great leader and a beast defensively still in his later years
big shoutout to Al horford. As a Latin American(Dominican) you gotta love this guy. And he's much more knowledgeable about the game than I thought, Very insightful interview!
The veteran of the year award should be created.
Horford representing DR 🇩🇴💯
Al is the GOAT of vets, exactly what those young bros in Boston need
Al is legend. Such a solid dude.
Great interview, but wanted to hear more about those 🐊 days 🏆🏆
Great interview
Can't wait to see what he'll do in the playoffs this year! Out of all the Celtics players last year he was easily their MVP in the playoffs next to Brown. I can't think of another center/power 4 that can catch fire from 3 like big Al.
Like his fellow Caribbean Tim Duncan, Al Horford is all class and thoughtfulness, and a winner.
watching Al and those UF teams made me fall in love w hoops way back when, i hope he can get a ring w the Cs
GREAT STUFF BIG AL 💪
Loved it.
that story with joakim at Florida was so precious
Grampa Al is the best thing that could of happened for JT/JB and the Celtics! I only wish he didn’t go to the 76ers and stayed with the Celtics.
As a hawks fan I will always respect and show love for Al, before he got drafted they were pretty irrelevant and after he got there the franchise took off. Big shout out to him.
Jj love the pod listen all the time. I have two questions about this episode as a Celtics fan: 1) you mentioned Al’s departure/return from/to Boston (around 15 min in) but didn’t get back to the return 2) I feel like the J’s get questions about Ime (I love joe and ime) situation for the most part but I thought a veteran perspective would’ve been interesting
JJ if you end up reading comments I feel that Joe Johnson would be a great guest on the podcast!! Such a tenuous career and a great player.. feel like it’d be a great conversation! Hopefully one day lol
Yep AL was an Allstar top 4/5 physical mid range monster his first few years with Atlanta and he's extended his range considerably & consistently. Every year he's been a formidable asset & play maker on both ends. Match-ups that he's outsized he uses his agility, IQ & discipline. There's really a short list of individuals that are better than AL on both sides of the floor & in those matches he's often able to elevate his game to match or nullify that advantage significantly for his team. Perfect vet to play with Smart, JB&JT.
Everything is AMPLIFIED in the PlayOffs #TeamBall #CELTICs is on a higher level as a team!!!! #LetsGoCELTICs
Al is such a cool dude, loved story about Noa as well 😁
al has elite basketball temperament, as the bucks series last year reminded everyone.
Derrick White was Jinxed, and Al was too! Damn JJ
Huge fan of your podcast! Was thinking you guys should try and do an interview with Shae Gilgeous Alexander. Love his story and also I cant find any decent length interviews of him anywhere lol
The Pero Antic shout out 🙌
Payton Pritchard from the 🍀 was saying Horford jams to Mithril OReDER nonstop in the Celts Lockerroom.
Class act
Al hit the nail on the head wit the Brons prime question
Hope Al joins the coaching staff for the Celtics one day after he retires no rush on the retirement though still clutch to have 🦍😤
Was sad when he left my Hawks. Celtics benefit greatly having him
Agree 100% on the Quickley vs Brogdon for 6th man. Quickley might be just as good as Brogdon but when all of your defining games on the season come as a starter you shouldn't win an award meant for bench players.
Love Al
Everybody loves Al :)
Love Al! Such a professional on and off the court! Definitely a core piece for this C’s run!
BIG AL STILL BALLING FROM THE THREE POINT LINE YES SIR
Horford and Noah are my favorite bigs in basketball, I wished they played together professionally
Tommy, reppin the Black Movement! Great jacket, where did you get it Dude? Sweet!
Al Horford is the BEST VET The CELTICs could asked for so HAPPY HE CHOSE BOSTON as his HOME (Pre BAG)!!! Last season with CELTICs double BIG line up JB was the best SG in the league! This season with CELTICs starting White; BROWN has still excel in whatever role they give him and that has propelled him top #2 SF in league this season and JT is top #2 PF behind Giannis! The JAYs are making their team better even when they do not have their usual rhythm some games! They are the most complete BEST DUO in the NBA this 2022-2023 SEASON! #AllNBA
Shouout Pero Antic I watched him at Eurobasket when Macedonia went to the semis the next year the Atlanta Hawks signed him
2 Marcin Gortat references in 20hr! Jeff dropped him in last night’s broadcast too ha awesome
I’m a Lakers fan and will always root against the Celtics just because of the history of the 2 franchises, but I really like Al he’s the glue for that awesome team
the boston crowd is here in the comments, cheering for OUR guy al horford 💚🍀
Why does that little tune they play during their ads feel so nostalgic

One of your best episodes. Respect for the vet and how he changed his game.
I was so happy during that Philly-Boston series that JJ is referencing. When I saw those little shooters get absolutely destroyed on pick and rolls and size mismatch switches, I was salivating. Isn't 6 man award for a guy that comes off the bench!? Quickly only started 16+ games because guys were hurt and so, in theory, he came off the bench as the 6TH MAN and he showed it in those games that the team needed him. Also Quickly is a menace on defense.
