It's not that people grow up hating the Raiders. It's that the Raiders organization and fans are addicted to creating artificial rivalries by starting petty feuds. This all stems from the inferiority complex that comes with spending their entire existence as the ugly stepchild in their market, whether it's the Bay Area (49ers) or Los Angeles (Rams). It's no wonder why the Raiders want to move to Las Vegas.

You could do an entire series on all the beefs Al Davis had.

Duh! During the 70s and 80s the Raiders were so dominant! And they weren't terrible in the 90s. Throughout most of their history they have been a Powerhouse. Just not the early 60s and obviously this New Millennium.

Super hyped for his 'like chart party and pretty good but 2 hours long' thing, should be out by the end of the month. No nut November gonna b impossible if it does.

The Marcus Allen beef with Al Davis is still the one that baffles me. Allen could have possibly been the all time leader in yards by a running back but Al Davis acting like a child.

Classy gesture by Mike Shanahan to point out how he "learned" from Davis after his death, but it's hard for me to believe that those nice words were in any way sincere.

From shooting hoops to the Super Bowl

after Tom Flores left, that's when Al Davis became Al Davis for the remainder of his ownership of the Raiders, for the remainder of his life, specifically, that's when he became the difficult boss, owner to work for, that's when he would step on Coaches toes so the Raiders would play his way, meddle with Coaches and create instability within the Raiders organization. Something similar happened with Gruden after his first tenure with the Raiders ended in the early 2000's.

I wish you would have put in this video Mike Shanahan's response to Al Davis firing Lane Kiffin. his response was so funny. Mike Shanahan commented about how Lane kiffin coached one more game than him when he was on the Raiders so Shanahan said that, "Geez! He obviously liked Lane kiffin more than me. He let him Coach one more game than I did."

That ending was beautiful. Keep up the great content. You guys are gonna hit a million before the middle of 2019.

in 1997 or 1998 I was at a Raiders@Broncos game in Mile High. As a raiders fan you hear all kinds of stupid comments there, but there was this old guy that was so damn angry that Shanahan didn't get that money, he was trying to take it out on me. I had no idea about this issue, nor did i really care. But that old dude talked the entire game about like I had something to do with it. Bronco fans man, they be crazy.

Y’all forgot the worse part: The Raiders had a trade lined up with the Colts to get John Elway but it never went through. Then we went to the Broncos and so did Shanahan and they won two super bowls together. Just to add salt to the wound

Al Davis shouldn't have been doing anything during his later years in life with the Raiders and it showed. Since the '84 season, the Raiders haven't done crap and his son is making it even worse but that's what they deserve

As a Broncos fan, this is why to this day I still hate Oakland more than KC or the Chargers. I don't care how good or bad either team is. That's the games to get up for.

As a Raider fan, I dislike Broncos more than KC because the two teams have kinda of a similar history, and three rings. Also in Brazil we have a lot of Broncos fans and they do think their team is way good and way too better than us.

Every time the Broncos beat the Raiders during that time my friends and I always said, "So, just pay him already."

This video is well done but there is an addendum to this beef that occurred a couple of years ago that snuffed out the final vestiges of the Al Davis Raiders. In early 2015, Mark Davis, son of Al, interviewed Mike Shanahan for the Raiders job. Raiders play by play man Greg Papa took to the airwaves in order to criticize Mark Davis for the move and basically called it a betrayal of his father's legacy. That talking to Shanahan amounted to treason. Papa, a brilliant play by play announcer, was an Al loyalist and was even at one time considered for a front office job, his heart was clearly with the old regime, as were people like the departed CEO Amy Trask. On Papa's radio show that day was Bill Romanowski, former Bronco (Shanahan) and Raider (Davis), who disagreed with Papa about the value of interviewing Shanahan. Despite being grateful that Davis signed him late in his career, Romanowski argued that Davis only kept people around that agreed with him or did his bidding, and that was not the way to run a franchise. Fast forward to 2018 and Papa was fired in favor of Brent Musburger. Papa, who is deeply missed by Raider fans for his skills as a play by play announcer, blamed his dismissal on his previous Shanahan comments. He is now currently the play-by-play announcer for the Forty-Niners. The hiring of the Las Vegas-based Musburger cleared the franchise of remaining Al loyalists and reaffirmed the transition to the Mark Davis Las Vegas Raiders.

This beef cost the voice of the Raiders his job. Greg Papa criticized Mark Davis for considering Mike Shanahan for a coaching job given Al's history with Shanahan. That pissed Mark off and he fired Papa over it, and replaced him with ..... Brent Musberger.

Al wasn't cheap, he was just petty. The money he paid to guys like Tommy Kelly, DeAngelo Hall, Gibril Wilson, Javon Walker, Warren Sapp, and of course, JaBustus (no last name necessary) is proof of that.

Al was the bad boy of the league. Its hard to be a rebel if you get along with the authority. Everyone talks about a teams "Mt Rushmore" The Raiders should just be Al or if they must...four Al's. rip
