My Akita (Kira) is an Akita Tweenie. She’s a mix between the Japanese and the American Akita. Which is sometimes considered to be a third Akita breed but only where it is considered to be a purebred. Different places may have different standards and regulations of what an Akita should look like. If you have an Akita Tweenie that follows those regulations in your area, it is considered to be its own variation.

Hi all just came across your channel and I have a japanese/american cross. His dad was a massive american akita, his mum a japanese. I chose him because out of a litter of 10 black and white furballs he was the only brown one. I definately have the best of both Loyalty, Strength, protectiveness and just a gentle giant around the elderly people I live with and is an absolute boon to my autistic grandson. But saying that, (I'm an OAP) when I was approached aggressively by some random guy he made his presence very much felt and I was glad to have him at my side.

The short answer is yes, hopefully it would never come to that, but if you must know: Akitas have a bite of 350-400 PSI, Pitbulls have a bite of 240-330 PSI. Pitbulls have a lock-jaw but Akitas are much bigger and fight/play in a way that conserves their energy. i completely agree with this!

I have 4 american akitas. 3 short coat and 1 woolie. Why did you do Akita mixes instead of the woolie Akita? The mixes are not akitas because they are mixed so it makes them something else. At least the woolie Akita is still a Purebred Akita weather American or Japanese. Since you left them out and put mutts it makes me think you don't really know about the breed because if you did you would have included them. How does a mutt even make a list if we are talking about a specific breed or variations on 1 breed. It's a woolie Japanese akita inu in the picture for your video literally all 3 types of Akita and you still missed your facts. Do more research before trying to teach others. E Update: I have 3. 1 of my males passed from parvo last year so now I have my 1 standard male 2 almost 3, 1 standard female 3, and 1 woolie female 10 months

Do you breed them???????????? Looking for a pet. I have had Akitas but I outlived them. One was 19 years old when he died. Best food and regular long walks.

@@robertmason7553 Where r you located? I had 1 litter this time last last year and 1 litter in january of this year. Was gonna give the females a break but if they decided to have plans of their own I'm not stopping them. I let them all in the yard come back a few minutes later and they have bred themselves. I just feed them and keep them clean until the puppies arrive then it's off to the vet with mom and the litter then in 8-12 weeks they find homes. I have family tree also of Dad and my female woolie.

@@beautifulbre2688 No no no dont breed on my behalf if they need a break. Im just outside of Omaha Nebraska. Been looking for a while but everybody wants me to sign spay or neuter papers and I tell them no. If im paying all that money for a dog, its my dog.

There are only two. The American and the Japanese. There is no third.

I have one and he encompasses all of the traits of both, so don't speak on something you clearly know nothing about.

American version is the best

American Akita's are all descended from one Akita. They have pancreatic issues.
