AKI's Oki: An Offensive Guide to SF6's Poisonous Snake

Ойындар

As promised, I have created this guide for A.K.I. Although many say she is meant to be played as a neutral-controlling character, I have found a LOT of tech when it comes to her okizeme (post-knockdown setups). I hope you will enjoy.
Happy training!

    Awesome guide for those looking to get into the character! I'd like to note that DP-Safe fireball setups, like the one shown at 1:30, are only safe against more vertical DP's like Ryu's. It will get blown up by Ken or Luke's, for example. Thanks for making this great resource!

    Dude let me tell you: AKI mains like us will be veeery happy once the balence patch comes out. I really dont think she needs much to be very good, I mostly want them to get her consistent and to get more ways to explore the poison mechanic.

    I'll be honest, I've had the chance to test it more times now in live matches and found out it's much more easy to do against a dummy in the lab but it requires 100% focus. The crossup catches a LOT of opponents though so it's worth going for it. Great suggestion though I might try your strat, thanks for sharing!

    1:40 it’s best to just buffer your forward heavy kick plus move here instead of the medium whip, can hit confirm it still for the combo extension but will also be good on block for the same stand medium punch frame trap

  • @HyperDogeGaming

    @HyperDogeGaming

    that's correct. I've included it here in this video but I've realized later that f.HK is a better option, I agree. Note, however, that f.HK loses to wakeup DI. I would also suggest using st.HK, stance cancel (which beats DI, is plus on block, and leads to a mixup).

    Im sorry if i missed it in the video. But you also have a safe jump after H.Chain midscreen. Its just a little tricky as you have to react if the opponent is backward rising or not. With backwards rising you also can go for jmp.Hp, If the opponent is normal rising you can use jmp down.HP for cross up

    i’m having trouble with the safe jump when i do heavy serpent lash then press 9 then b.hp i always end up on the other side and keep going over them would you be able to explain it

  • @HyperDogeGaming

    @HyperDogeGaming

    9 ай бұрын

    that's when they rise in-place. If they do that, you need to hold 9, then hold 3 (down-forward when facing right) and press j.HP. Also, you can hold 9 as soon as you are done inputting qcf.HP for the heavy Serpent Lash. This way, you are guaranteed to be jumping at the very first frame available after your recovery.

    3:30 is this good for the non back tech option as well? And on all of these trade situations with a 4-frame, they can buffer super or DP to win the next exchange? Thanks

  • @HyperDogeGaming

    @HyperDogeGaming

    9 ай бұрын

    To your first question: yes. All meaty setups starting with DR that work for backrise are guaranteed to work for in-place recovery because in-place and backrise have the exact same amount of frames of recovery. To your second question: nope. The trade oki setup I've shown at 3:30 gives you something like 15 frames of advantage (and that's on-hit advantage). So that means you can combo any normal or special that has less that 15 frames of startup, hence the subsequent st.HK. combo starter. In other words, you can treat the first hit - i.e. the "trade" - as if it we just another normal that is part of your combo. Because that's what it actually is. Hope this helps :) let me know, maybe I should make a Short on Trade combos SF6?

    I see . That’s amazing then, can mixup on block grab or strike if no trade . This means they would have to do whatever dp or super on their wake-up . Thanks for the responses.

    Hyperdoge.. my lord and savior. It might be a bit much to ask but I'd loveto see this style of video for the whole roster of sf6.. Especially Jamie 🥲 (On break from alcohol for Aki atm). Atleast do the DLC chars and if not all DLC atleast do Ed. Keep it up bro, your guides are the best no question.

  • @HyperDogeGaming

    hey @kylelogan thanks for taking the time to give this feedback. It's the best kind of feedback for me, really helps fuel my motivation to keep producing content and know what people enjoy the most :) I am definitely planning on doing all the DLC characters, so stay tuned for that 100%. I can't wait for Ed and Akuma to drop! In the meantime, I got Manon to Master rank and I'm collecting material to put together a guide for her too. I'll do whatever character I like to play the most in-between the DLC characters. I've also been competing at Tampa Never Sleeps. Went 3 - 2 the first time and this week 2 - 2. Aiming to make it out of pools would be a nice achievement for me and I might try and put together some video around that too. All things considered, I am trying to prioritize quality over quantity here, however. So I can't publish once a week, the videos take too much work for me to be able to do that. Cheers!
