I had to figure out what the issue is and finally figured out the video frames start to advance by doubling some frames which caused the video to be ahead of audio. This solution of using 3 min files will give a person more files but at least the audio stays synced. I have had sd cards fail before so I always try to see if it is user error or the equipment.

Great video! Really looking forward to trying this out with my victure ac700 as it has exactly the same audio sync drift. I’ve tried everything to fix this problem!

So glad you figured this out thx. I like the camera but the sync issue kept me from using it and I also had mine set to OFF on loop recording.

Great fix Andre. I tried a two camera 20 minute shot using the GoPro and Osmo Action and luckily, the files didn’t seem to show sync issues. The fix you’ve shown though might well work on many cameras. I like the look and the picture quality from the Akasos. They just don’t offer 25 or 50fps though for us Brits which is a pity; especially if we use more than one camera. They are smart looking though. You were right ..... loving the Osmo.

@@WORTHITORNOT Give him a few years. BTW, I saw your analysis with the out-of-synch using the GoPro Hero7 as the base-line. Excellent analysis. I'm considering getting the Campark V30 anyways for my long bike rides. I won't be using stabilization. That's not important for me. I just want to be able to record incidences just in case.

Thanks for this informative video. Until now I was very disappointed with the low audio volume and the need for an external mic.

Wow, this proves the Akaso to be a good camera. I‘m still searching for good cam and only wondering if bad audio can be worked around

One thing to address the Audio Sync issue you point out is: Set the file length to either 3 or 5 min. and use Divx Software to easily stretch them (tiny files) together and call it a day. Also, you will note that the video clarity is much more Stunning, and much like a "High-end" expensive camera was used, in my opinion - try it out sometime with the free Divx Software, too, should do it.

It’s a good camera but if you can wait a bit, at the end of the month their releasing the new Brave 7 which might be worth waiting for ;-)

I have the Campark V30 with the exact same menu structure. I also had loop set to OFF. I didn't know about the sync issue because nothing I've recorded has been long enough to experience this issue. But if I start making longer vids with this cam, I don't want to experience this problem, so thank you for this tip! One question, in post, if a scene spans more than one file, do you lose any frames when you put the files in sequential order on your timeline? Liked and subscribed.

@@HenPapirman I don't have Premiere Pro, but in Cyberlink Director 15 and Davinci Resolve 16, when I place the Campark files next to each other on the timeline, I haven't noticed any dropped frames.

thanks for the "temporal" fix. I think AKASO has to fix it by firmware. It is not excuses for AKASO to avoid to fix it. I have two v50x coming. So I didnt play with them yet. But if those present the same audio sync, then i will complain to AKASO. No doubt about it.

La primera funciona perfectamente, lo del audio tambien, pero con la segunda me llego con el sd card slot roto nada mas salir de la caja, y todavia estoy peleando con ellos para buscar una solucion porque me estan dando larga. La verdad que la calidad de la imagen esta genial, pero si compras, no compres por Aliexpress, mejor por amazon si puedes que te va a dar mas garantias.

I think one of your reviews Should mention the video files produced by the Akaso v50x are incompatible with macs. Akaso was too cheap to pay for the audio Codec and there’s no sound on Files played back on a Mac. You either have to save the video from the Akaso app to your iPhone which converts the audio or drag the files to your computer open them in a third-party app and convert them. I wish one of the dozens of reviewers I watched on the web might’ve mentioned that small fact

Good point, but since I am not a Mac user I would not have known that. Maybe you should make a video about that, I bet it would get a ton of views !

I think I have the stuttering and real pixelated video problem solved. I almost hate to admit this but I think the software I was using to view them for some reason couldn't play them back correctly. I was using VLC media player. What is funny is that it handled most formats correctly but seemed to have issues with the 60fps. I took some more 60fps video and then watched it on the camera and it seemed fine. So my next thought was to try quicktime player and it played the video fine. I then made a video in powerdirector and it played fine.

Theres a lot to fix with this variant sir, I just learned most recently that even with the external microphone, the audio recording still suck, might consider v50 pro instead, i saw this review about this variant, he has the external mic, and he used it for motovlogging and no matter what he did just to make the audio recording better, still not happening

He installed the mic inside his helmet, and once the external microphone started to sense the wind, the recording is really really bad, and it got worst when he tried to compensate at his second attempt using a much louder voice, more wind more noise, more loud voice more noise, he even tried wrapping the microphone with cotton (1st attempt) wrapping it again with masking tape over the cotton (2nd attempt) and still the result is the same, so might as well consider v50 pro instead, what good is the stabilization for if you cant even post your video with a distorted audio right?

Thanks for a great video! Was wondering your thoughts on an issue I'm having. I just put my footage into premiere and am getting audio that is 2xfaster. Video doesnt seem to be affected and It's also totally normal when I'm just playing the files back through media player. Tried different sd card, different frame rates but they are all showing up with that damn chipmunk audio.

Thanks for the fix. On my V50X with loop recording off, it writes 3.2GB files of 8:30 each. I'm going to follow your advice and set it to 3min loop. It's kind of odd that a company this experienced can't deliver a camera with reasonable audio out of the box. It seems with these Action Cams at the lower price points they can move forward in one area (such as image stabilization), but then take a step back in another.

I agree, this V50X has the best stabilization out of ANY sub $100 action camera hands down, just wish they would have paid a little bit more attention to this sync issue, but hey, I guess we can't have it all :) Thanks for watching !

My gripe is that the impressive image stabilization comes at the expense of a very cropped frame, so it's really a bit of a cheap cheat. At $50 or $60 that would be fine. But at $100 in 2019, with all the other issues, it's just unacceptable.😕

Not looking at price, V50X vs V50 pro se? I will use it mainly for motorcycle rides and fishing.

That’s the same firmware I have. You should record 6-7 minutes nonstop at 4K while talking to the camera and moving, then report back about audio/video going out of sync. Here’s a video I did showing how long it takes for it to go out of sync. kzread.info/dash/bejne/jHpptpKIoZafaZM.html

@@WORTHITORNOT Did the test, first with just the internal mic and then with the external mic. It slowly became out of sync with the internal mic around the 7 minute mark. It didn't do it at all with the external mic.

Posted a video on my channel. Noticed the camera didn't like having the gyro on while on the bike. Gonna have to do some more testing on what combo works best with the EIS on.

The option is disabled in my camera. the menu is a bit different. i guess my firmware is newer (I bought it earlier this year). any solution?

At this point I would not as a lot of users are saying that their cameras were bricked updating the firmware because Akaso changed the internals on the new cameras and the new firmware is not meant for older cameras.

Is there a best app for the akaso v50x? The reviews for the one recommended isn't very good.

Serious question: Could this be used as an overhead cam at a desk? Would it catch details in drawings or books? My phone is really blurry on the edges and I’m dying inside. Haha. I have a second channel where I’m doing online lessons for a class and need something for my overhead shots.

Interesting! Have they fixed the unforgivable wobble at 1080P? That's a deal breaker imo! 🤷‍♂️ I really REALLY wanted to like the V50X, and almost bought one. But the combination of wobbly 1080p, reddish colour profile, severely cropped frame, and audio sync issues just destroyed any chance for me. I mean it's 2019 - those are simple things to fix - and inexcusable for me! 🤔

dear friend, I have tested the camera and there is an annoying hum sound in the videos I make with it (a low flying plane sound) I also did the setting sound off and then you do not hear a hum sound but then you have no sound . Furthermore, I have a number of options on and off to see if that annoying hum is then out but that is not so unfortunately. do you know a solution? sorry for my bad english kind regards , Rob

Sorry, mine does not have that hum you mention. You should contact Akaso and tell them about it and maybe they will have a solution for you.

Mine it’s fine for about 2 minutes than a second later video starting to run out of sync 5 seconds faster than audio.

Hey man what budget camera would you recomend that has nice quality 1080p 60fps video with good stabilization.

I covered this in other videos on my channel, the audio is a nice normal speed of recording but the video frame rate is not constant, it is all over the place. Akaso needs to fix this issue fast as I have notified them months ago

If you use the 3 min files in loop recording then the V50X does not go out of sync, stabilization is a tad better on the V50X but the audio and video image quality and features are better on the V50 Pro SE.

I have no sync issues even when speaking during file split with or without the external mic and I tested for 16 min. Settings were h265, 4k30fps, EIS, and Gyro on, WDR off. I'm running firmware V50X-20191101-V1.0. You MUST perform a factory reset after upgrading. However... if you hit the power button and take a photo while recording video, your audio will go out of sync right after that. Anyway, for those who cant seem to solve their audio sync issue, try enabling loop recording for either 3 or 5 minutes and see if it corrects itself each time it starts to write a new file. Also, don't take pictures while recording video :)

Interesting, as I did do a factory reset after each firmware update, but still get the audio going out of sync and finally figured it out as the video is not at a constant frame rate, it wonders from 28fps to 30.5 while the audio stays stable. Here is my latest video showing exactly how long it takes for the Akaso to go out of sync and how using handbrake set to constant frame rate fixed the issue. kzread.info/dash/bejne/jHpptpKIoZafaZM.html

I guess they saw my review that I disappointed about the v50x not having good sound quality or at the time I couldn't get an external mic online. Now, I see you can but they contacted me and want to send me a free mic but they need my address. They seem to be pressuring me to answer them. Have you dealt with them?

How are they pressuring you? If you don't want a free external microphone tell them that you don't want it. If you do, then give them your address. Seems to me that is a nice gesture to give you a free microphone ~!

I use Premier Pro but Davinci Resolve is free and very powerful but a steep learning curve but they’re many DR tutorials online

When I try to playback my videos from the windows VLC the audio seems fine, but when I start to edit on any editor the audio speeds up so I always have to manually speed it down to 50% then sync it up to the video

I never listen to audio straight from the camera's speaker, I always download the video files into my computer then edit and the V50X has really low quality audio but can be boosted somewhat in editing. The biggest problem with this camera is the audio and video going out of sync after a few minutes of recording.

@@WORTHITORNOT Ps: I have read that the playback from the device come from a preview file much smaller than the actual file (.LRV), so the audio quality streamed directly from the camera is for sure crap. Plus the crappy audio. Plus the crappy speaker. LoL

I have the latest firmware and the audio still goes out of sync. Akaso has stopped responding to my emails about this issue and the poor audio. I guess their engineers can't fix these issues via firmware. Really a shame as it is a great little camera.

Have you tried using any third party mic on Akaso v50x?

@@WORTHITORNOT On my list for purchase based on your review. I currently own the AKASO V50 Elite and YI Lite. Love them both. I just have to have that Firefly 8SE. Keep telling myself this is the last camera I will purchase, but I love cameras.

Thanks heaps Andre. Have you had a chance to assess the new V50x firmware yet? ( AKASO-V50X-20191101-V1.0 ) Very curious to know what you think. One reviewer claims claims some real improvements ...with the usual "keep your expectations realistic."

Yes, I have been using this for about 2-3 weeks now. Very "slight" audio volume improvement, but nothing that addresses the audio going out of sync and at this point I think this issue is because of a hardware (maybe chipset) issue but this method of using 3 minute files is a good work around.

I hope somebody can help me. My Akaso v50x has white dot in the video when i recorded at night. I have no issue when i recorded in a day because it has no white dot. That white dot only appears when i recorded at night.

Sounds like you have a faulty lens or sensor, I would return it.

I also ask a few youtuber that review the same akaso v50x and seems that some of them are having the same problem. That white spot will appears after night video was done recorded. I would love it if you can make a videos about that sir 😊❤

Hi ...i heared that akaso v50x supports max 64gb memorycard.... have u checked with 128gb memory card will it support. in 64gb i cant manage my videos

No I have not, you must be taking a lot of videos in one shoot to need 128 gb cards. You can contact Akaso and see what they say since they are the manufacturer of this camera.

Yup...they change the charging port from microUSB to Type C...still waiting for Akaso to rectify the problem...

My V50 X skips a few frames like every 10 Seconds, do you know why? I got it 2 Days ago... :(

@@WORTHITORNOT To be honest, i didnt care about the SD-Card, i've used a Class 4 16GB Micro-SDHC Card from San disk, but i'm gonna try a 32GB U1 Micro-SDHC Card from Samsung. Also i've ordered a 64GB Class 10 U1 Micro-SDXC Card from San-Disk... Hope that it's only the SD-Card, and thanks for your fast Reply, it's not natural that KZreadr Reply that fast :D

Elias Didit : All 4K cameras require a U3 speed, not class 10 or lower as they don’t write fast enough. Get a U3 card and that should solve your issue

@@WORTHITORNOT Here is an email I got from them as I was having problems with the new V50x. It was having major issues filming in the H.264 format. They told me not to use a U3. See below response from seller. Hello friend, I'm really sorry to hear that. May I know what kind of SD card do you used? U3 is not suitable for this camera. U1 is a must for this camera. We recommend brand name memory cards, which meet these requirements: Micro SD, Micro SDHC, or Micro SDXC • Class 10 or UHS-I rating • Capacity up to 64GB 100MB/s (FAT32) Note: 1. Please format the micro SD card first in this camera before using. To keep your micro SD card in good condition, reformat it on a regular basis. Reformatting erases all of your content, so be sure to offload your photos and videos first. 2. FAT32 format Micro SD card stops recording when the storage of each file is over 4GB and starts to record again on a new file If the card you used is U3, please change U1 card to have try. If the card you used is U1,maybe there is something wrong wih the camera. In the case, could you please provide your current shipping address so that I can send you shipping label to send them back to us? The replacement will be arranged after receiving your return. Waiting for your response. Sincerely

Bear in mind that I have the T5 pro already but seems to have much noise even in daylight but packed with many features so I was thinking to buy the 8se and keep the T5 pro as a back up or even sell it

@@WORTHITORNOT I actually figured it out. I detached the audio from the video and manually synced it. I use Final Cut Pro. That said, thanks for the Video. I have a Brave 6 Plus and it does the same thing. I will have it loop at 3 minutes now to avoid this. Thanks again.

So is the issue present in all versions of firmware or just the latest version? Should I upgrade if mine is on the June version?

This is the worst camera I have ever be unfortunate to own . The audio is terrible. The picture is not great either.
