Live in Canada so prices are high. Will be using this camera possibly for offroad motorcycling. Current have an EK 7000 and it takes forever to use stabilization to make it watchable. Need to have some stabilization at least.

I use mine when offroading on my Polaris RZR. I mount it to a roll cage with a wrist band control and record as I ride and have like 10 batteries to swap out as needed.

My action camera is strapped to the arm of my power wheel chair and is on anytime I'm out that way if anything happens I've got it LOL but as far as taking pictures goes I've always got my Canon T6I with me as well 😎

(Update) AKASO V50-X Update: After much experimentation, I have found that this Camera performs very well with the latest firmware of Nov 2019 except that when using the APP "ACASO Go" or "RoadCAM," the issue is that the soundtracks with either internal or external mics have Pops and Crack sounds. I have not been able to find a workaround for this issue. If you make movies without using the App(s), no problems using this Camera. In this mode, I would give it a 10 out of 10, including video quality (4k) and sound (internal or external mics.) Let us hope they fix this sound issue with their App in the next update

Im wanting to buy my first action camera. Im really liking the Akaso V50x. Im not going to shoot videos for KZread. It's basically just for me traveling and capturing footage for memories. I don't want to spend a arm and a leg. So i think this action camera is the perfect camera for me. Because all videos I've seen. It never disappoints.

Haven't seen any videos on ur channel yet and its been a year...what happened?

I just got Akaso V50X. The still photo mode produces out of focus still images, tried various settings - still fuzzy. Customer service suggested resetting the camera. Did not help. I plan to use this camera for scuba photo, so still photo is important. Any ideas?

Can you tell me if the time and date have to be reset after changing batteries?

in my life until now I follow one basic rule when I want to buy something. I buy everything I see that has a lot of negative comments, and ? IS THE BEST . You see comments everywhere for every product comparing it to something else that is 5 times more expensive and they are not satisfied with anything less. the camera for making your videos on KZread and for personal use is fine.where are the huge differences from gopro to justify such a big difference in price? I will tell you, because is GoPro . GoPro for 200 is ok but 550 with one batery ,without charger , 0 almost extra ? finally you need plus 150 euros only for one more batery and charger, and total amount 700. with 700 you can buy one really good dslr not one matchbox . several years ago it was playing football alone in the market, but right now there are many valuable companies in the competition. come on guys ... enough . nice video my friend.

Hi great video, just purchased a v50x (uk) from amazon , looking at all reviews my camera is totally different? No swipe down feature , no akaso logo on screen & on start up just says akaso not akaso v50x ? Is it a fake , reason too return or is it just an updated unit ?

I notice the V50X photo time lapse minimum interval is 3 seconds. I do a lot of 1 sec and 2 sec time laspse's . Is there any way around this? Am I missing a setting?

I don't think you're missing a setting. I'm not sure if there is a way around it. I'd be curious if anyone put out their own software for these things.

can this be used as a webcam?

Just purchased this action camera. I am a new content creator and upgraded from the Van Top action camera. This camera was in budget I will use it for hiking. Excited to test for the next few months.

@@flaviarodrigues4074 I actually did a video on this camera. I have an hiking and backpacking channel so stabilization is very important to me. The Akaso V50X is a good camera I had to move to GoPro to get what I needed. I do use my Akaso as a backup camera. You can checkout the videos and make a decision.

I am pretty sure you need to update your firmware because I do not see the EIS in your menu. The EIS setting should be just above the gyroscope setting.

Is Akaso v50x better than GoPro White/silver?

So will this be a good camera to record me bashing my RC‘s?

Looking to mount this camera on a motorcycle and use it to video my trip. What settings do you recomend for this ? Im not looking for Hollywood quality video, just something to upload to youtube for myself. Im not a video nerd and do not presently own a action camera. Guess I should ask GoPro 5 Black and this camera are similar priced what would you do ? Thanks

I haven't tried the Hero 5. I know the older GoPros don't always have the same options for fps so it just depends on the features you need.

I have watched a couple of review videos on this camera and it is never mentioned about if it is suitable for a motorbike as a dash came sort of thing

What is the weight?

Nice video, just ordered one. So from what you said you can’t use image stabilisation on 1080 90fps?

Correct. If you want the 90fps for slow motion, I'd suggest a tripod or at least having the camera stationary.

Question. I have watched this video and the one you have posted for the EK7000. Doesn’t sound like you are overly enthusiastic about either. I have never owned an action camera but I am looking to purchase one to record Slowpitch softball games. Probably either mounted on a tripod or attached to fencing. What action camera would you suggest for something like that? I am not looking to post to KZread but want to make the videos available for my team to watch on Facebook or something. Don’t really want to spend the money on a GoPro because I didn’t realize how expensive they were. Would you say go with a Yi camera, this v50x, something else all together, or just bite the bullet on a GoPro?

The V50x will serve your purposes just fine, especially if you want to use a tripod. The camera doesn't support the video stabilization at 4k so the tripod is a must. Or you can drop it down to 1080 and getting a higher framerate if you want smoother slow mo. The Yi cameras I've used have been good as well. Either will work for what you need, I think.

Is v50x better than hero 5?

Cool Vid, saw your other vid on the 7000, was not impressed, My GP3 took a dump and am looking to "upgrade". Can you put an external mic on this? Going to mount to helmet and put mic inside and talk that way. Thanks in advance. Cheers from Montana

I haven't done it myself but it looks like there is an option or two for micro USB mics that would work with the v50x.

Good for the price, but audio still sucks. This camara is more funtional for takes in nature and editing with extra audio behind

This camera has major issues when recording in 4k. most of the videos come out grainy and have video and audio dropouts. many people here on KZread have reported the same problem. Akaso for some reason fails to recognize this. Their answer is use a specific SD card to help eliminate that problem. Unfortunately there really has been no fix for this at all. other aspects of the camera are not bad at all however it is useless when you record in 4k to get a decent quality video that does not have freezing dropouts in audio dropouts.

New subbie. My home town. Cass Ave, brings back memories.

This camera is really really good for the price with one huge flaw, the microphone quality. I don't know why they can use a better mic, right now the cheapest cell phones have better mic and sound quality than this model from Akaso.

Most action cameras have mic flaws that's the reason business you want good audio you must be extra stuff regardless tech companies don't give everything for just one price

Akaso action camera's are brilliant. The V50 Pro SE is even better and very affordable. Nice video.

I have the Akaso V50pro and V50X and for any type of action the stabilisation on the V50X is mile better than the Pro which is almost non existant .

GoPro and DJI are the best obviously. But for a action camera like the Akaso at a quarter the price. Makes you wonder how they justify these so called premium camera's at their price. Like Apple, a rip off!

This video makes me want to go out, and buy a GoPro.

Do not buy Akaso action cameras. They are rubbish. You can't use it for long. They break down easily. My friend and I bought Akaso action cam from Aliexpress. Mine broken down within a month and my friend's broke down in a few months as well.
