It seems to me that "better" image stabilization simply equates to removing more of the outer border of each frame; effectively zooming in further. What I wonder is, when extracted into still images (say 10 consecutively), which camera's look the cleanest?

COLOR can be Corrected however Not so with Audio and the effort to get better audio through post editing should prove loads of work. If I get the V50X, what 3rd party external mic are recommended as my purpose is for motovlogging. Thanks!. Great Review!

Did you compare the Akaso V50X with the Akaso V50 Pro SE? I scratched the lens of my V50X and need a new actioncam. I think the V50 Pro SE could be better? It does not cut the picture so much with its stabilization.

Which firmware version did you use for both cameras in the video?

The v50x microphone is much quieter, but if I turn my volume right up when you switch to the v50x audio from the v50 pro, the audio doesn't sound any worse, its just quieter. To bad you can't somehow make it louder...I just ordered mine, and I'm mostly going to use it for snowboarding and mountain biking, so I'm not going to be doing a whole lot of talking, so I'm not to worried about the audio.

Sound in the V3 software on my V50X is pretty good. See if you can get Akaso to the send that FW to you. They seem reluctant to do so, fearing people will brick their cameras.

I think all tech reviewers should include the firmware version when tested as I believe that may account for the differences found across reviews for the product.

The x has crap audio, but the color and image stabilization really sell it. My application mounts it on a Polaris RZR. Audio is almost entirely unimportant, whereas image stabilization is tops. This video just further reinforced my decision to get the v50x.

You can change the quality of video and color temperature in the settings . Unfortunately there is no mention . This comparison is useless because there is no mention what settings were used.

V50x has better color, but didn't handle shadow detail as well. If I wanted to get one of them, I would have to go with the pro because of the better sound

Quality is priority, but if your a vlogger then pro is the choice, I chose v50x because it has a Sony sensor

Before this video I always thought the pro had a better image quality, after this head to head video I think I changed my mind. Have you ever tried the Pro Se ? It’s hard to find much info about that camera. Looking forward to the new line of Akaso being released soon !

it supports microphone via micro usb, it is one of the only cameras that supports it

Just got a V50x. Hope the sound is better than on your video. The stabilization is good. So I ordered an external mic. Hope that helps. Other than that it looks good.

@@w8nc82 Yep, it helped a lot. If you’re keeping the camera, the mic is worth it. I think it was about $10. Make sure you get the mic that is specifically for the V50x. Any others won’t work. 👍

V50pro looks a more crisp bright picture however I'm here for image stabilization which is alot better on the v50x a shame the pro didn't have the same image stabilization!

On other comparisons that I have seen, the video on the v50x is way better than the pro, it seems like the pro is hit and miss

Two questions: 1) Do these cameras work with other brands' external mics, such as the Rode Video Micro? 2) I suppose they both slice long videos into 30min takes, right? Can you tell us if this slicing is smooth (like in the Go Pros) or if there are frame "leaps" between them? PS: I'm now looking forward to seeing how the AKASO V50 PRO SE will do in your chart and review. ;-)

i prefer v50x for the great quality of video n stabilization. but only v50x audio is quite slow then v50 pro. and for me no prob coz i can buy v50x external mic for best quality audio.

It’s Apples and Oranges really. If you want great EIS and more natural, sharper video, then the V50X is the choice. However, it suffers from poor Audio quality and the pictures were too dark in contrast to the V50Pro IMHO. For pictures, the V50Pro wins for clarity and brightness , even though it’s 20mp vs 12 mp. I’m curious as to why AKASO sacrifices audio quality on a superior video camera that is the V50X, but they gave higher photo resolution to a lesser quality video camera. It’s almost like they want you to collect the set😆😆 AKASO - please make one action camera that is on par with GoPro instead of cutting corners on every other model.

bigtruck guy not sure. I bought mine in January and sounds is better but don’t expect a high quality. I have also bought and tried the external AKASO micro and with this the quality improves a bit more. If it’s for sport trips and some comments, without wind, it will probably be your camera. I’m really happy with the AKASO V50x

Dustin Hinkle it is not sounds cruddy. The only problem if it’s windy or if you record during a race or sport trip. But honestly it is not the best of its qualities. For better experience use the external mic from AKASO, then will be much better
