Gave my daughter and her husband a pair of these cameras to take with them to Australia's barrier reef. They dove with the cameras' in their included water proof cases. Footage was clear and stable. Worked great for home movies!

Not everyone uses it for you tube, I use mine mostly fishing and hunting, Just every day living. Don' need to get a GoPro! This camera is fine for this.

Your review is just awesome! You made a cheap budget camera to maximize its full potential, other people who say this camera is crap probably don't know how to use one. I've watched a lot of videos about the Akaso Brave 7 and yours is the best, I'm planning to buy this camera.

GoPro Hero 4 Black is the best cheap camera, i have it and its extremely good

It seems to do just as well as my Hero 6 "maybe slightly worse but barely noticeable", the wind reduction setting on the hero 6 is also completely worthless. Good review! Definitely a hundred times better than some of the other cheap cameras, I used an ape man when I first started my channel and it was absolutely horrible! I've been wanting to upgrade to a hero 10, money isn't the issue but they have absolutely horrible reviews!

I'm impressed by this Akaso. For 1/3 price of a Hero 10 the footage was amazing in the montage. Most consumers are quite happy to press the "ON" button and I believe this is what market they're aiming at. A no frills camera to record great footage at a fair price.

I have the akaso brave 4 it leave plenty to be desired but works enough for my level i only just put my first preview video up. Oh btw have you tried the one gallon tank? Its made my life sooo easy especially after my second spare fuel bottle was stolen lol. But after this vid i believe im gonna get the 7 it looks and seems perfect for me an my budget.

So I bumped up to the 7 filmed a painting video still editing but audio was very lacking though like my settings however I bought a wireless regardless and I think once learning settings better I'll have pretty choice sound in my following vids.

I would like to thank you for this video. I am just starting out making fishing KZread videos in Thailand and was looking into this camera but was vary worried about the audio quality because Audio quality is very important to me as well. Even though I watched other reviews about this camera I did not know that it had a wind reduction mode, which made your voice sound tinny , like you said. But without this mode on the audio sounds pretty good. Thanks for the review. Do you feel this camera would be good to make fishing videos?

Should work great for fishing adventures. For audio, the quality seems decent, but the volume is a bit low. You may want to boost the audio in your video editor, or project your voice while recording. If it's mounted to a head or chest mount it will hear you just fine, but at a distance it won't pick up voices well. The water proof build should let you get some creative shots, mounted on a poll net when you scope a fish, inside a cooler with the fish, at the waters edge, etc...

It will be mounted on my chest and I just found a shoulder mount strap as well. So it will be mounted on my shoulder like a parrot. A perspective that I have not seen used before in fishing videos. So should be interesting. And right next to my head. I need it to be waterproof because I live in Thailand and it could rain at any moment. Once my channel gets really rolling I want to get the DJI OSMO Action 3 and then I will turn the Akaso into my underwater camera. Thanks for the reply and your great review.

Have to give Akaso credit for trying earnestly to “fill a void” so to speak and manufacture an affordable product, for a reasonable price but, my Hero 8 Black is far superior. The 8 is getting harder to find new but when they pop up ? They are $250.00AUD…… Great value even if 5 generations back I hate being a GoPro Ho’ I must admit but outside of The Osmo Action 3-4. What else is out there that isn’t crazy money

My first "Action Camera" was a $40 PicTek. For the price, it was a brilliant starter camera. However by the time I needed to replace it, people had caught on and it was either sold out or drastically overpriced. When I tried to buy a similar priced variant, I felt utterly ripped off by the appalling quality. So I saved for a GoPro Hero 7 silver. My biggest complaint of this is the poor battery life and the sealed battery, so I can't swap out flat batteries like I could with the PicTek. Well the GoPro survived my crash with nothing more than a barely noticeable scratch on the lens which you can only notice on my videos when facing directly into the sun.

That's odd I would have figured the 7 was better than the 4. It's been awhile so don't quote me but, I think the brave 4 can do 240fps@720p. I don't recall if that changed with AIS turned on. The only issue I have had with the brave 4 is I have never gotten the wrist remote to work. Thanks for vid. Cheers

That was a great review! Does it have wifi capabilities? I thought it had rather decent quality footage. I like the remote too, having the lcd screen on it is a great idea.

Yes, has WiFi and a phone AP. I have not tried them because I do everything on my PC.

@@LAHover I don't actually think the Akaso App is that good and appear to want to promote Akaso products, and sell you things. (It does not appear to be that secure either, especially as it wants you to give it permission to access everything and you have to set up an on-line account with them in the actual app. ) Interestingly Akaso says in their User Manual, a download, that you have to remove the SDHC card and use in your computer, possible with an intermediary device. This is a bit surprising as if you plug in the USB cable when connected to a computer it comes up with an option to connect to your PC camera, or USB storage that my computer does not recognise. This may be as I run Linux and not Windows or Mac. However other cheap action cameras that I have used you just connected by a cable and it worked.

I own all the go pros that came out. But not the new fpv bones one since I don’t own a drone yet. I do have other action cameras from the old contours to low budget ones I call nopros. I have Asasko. One. Not a fan of the 360 the little white one lacks stuff since it’s small …the new one has to many pieces. The go pro max one touch between 360 to regular go pro. Maybe the 360 has easier edit then the max. And yes I thought of getting one to try.

Look for real 60 FPS and good quality image in cameras in this range of prices is a waste of time in the best case. Good vid.

You forget that these are designed for use in a lot of different activities so many of those mounts and the forward facing display are used by some. Bloggers using selfie sticks and motorcyclist video creators that often have one of the cameras pointing at them.

That's the issue... They tried to make an "All purpose" camera instead of an "Action camera" And in doing so they sacrificed too much. I did not "forget" anything. I reviewed it based off of what is important to me.

@@LAHover That's fair enough what's important to you or me, but for the manufacturers they have to make it as assessable to as many as possible to make it worthwhile to produce. Adding all the other mounts, etc costs very little and think about the possible purchasers that would be complaining if they had to go out and purchase those mounts. All these cameras are compared with GoPro and so it is no surprise that they try to include as many features as possible at a much less expensive price. The front display has become useful to many video bloggers including cyclists, campers, canoeists, etc. To me it is surprising that they have been able to do it at the price. Are these cameras as good as a GoPro or a DJI? No, but if they fulfil most of our needs, including quality, at an attractive cost then they are worth having to some, whilst others are willing to go to the expense of a GoPro.

My biggest issue with Akaso action cams is their pitiful recording. Like the recording WITH their included lav mic sounds like a mouse fart than GoPro's built-in one.

I just bought a brand new Zeda 80 and I can’t even get it together. The sprocket isn’t fitting my wheel and it seems impossible to fit on. I’ve been at it all night and can’t figure it out. Any suggestions.

How many spokes are on your wheel? The sprockets are designed for 36 spokes. Some bikes have 32 spokes... Not impossible, but you will have to loosen the interfering spokes than re-true the wheel afterwards.

Button cell batteries are for garage clickers that are only for temporary use. Any other items should avoid using them, INCLUDING FLASHLIGHTS!

A great middle ground between a $500 new Go Pro Hero 10 and a cheaper camera like this is the DJI Osmo. 4k 60fps 100mbps recording, 240fps 1080p. Great FOV options for the 1080 mode as well. It also has damn near GoPro levels of image stabilization quality. At $344 on Amazon right now, it fits right between the two options. So far it has also been very durable too.
