What I've never understood is why God makes it so difficult for His creation to communicate with Him! We are born to parents here on earth and my mom and dad were there to guide me the best way they knew how. Then when we have a question about religion, life stressors, or whatever, religion or whatever teaches that you must go on some 30 day fast with no food and minimal water so that you can hear from God. That's just one example, but just about everything I hear from people say you have to die to the flesh so to speak in order to hear from God. You must lose the ego. So, my question is this. God created HUMANS with an EGO and other emotions, then He refuses to communicate with us unless we put the ego on the back burner? This whole thing about life, death, communicating with God, knowing what God to communicate with, what religion is right, if any, is just so confusing and honestly causes so much division amongst people because everyone wants to be right when it comes to this topic. Christians say, it's my way or burn in hell. Really? So, we must worship something that we have never seen or heard from OR depend on some 2000 year old book that was written by man and believe it without asking questions? We are to just believe and if we fail to believe we end up in some eternal fiery torment? Wow! Just some thoughts so sorry if I offended anyone!

Fully agreed with you. I used to be very religious. I struggled in my marriage and got divorced. A have so many questions about God and Christian religion… I mean really simple question and the answers are not convincing to be honest.

If everything around us is God are we not communicating all the time? My personal feeling is that fasting and minimal water diets don't bring us any closer to that communion than walking on the beach and being aware of the sounds around us, it is joy and inner peace which help us to hear. Without the ego we would be dead, the ego helps us to know where we begin and end and gives us boundaries, our journey is to get to a place where the ego listens and acts from our inner wisdom rather than reacting from our fears, habits and conditioning. I don't believe that if we fail to believe we will be doomed, there is no right or wrong, we are all on our own journey and will ultimately be guided to the same place, we will be guided back home again, taking with us the lessons we have learnt, the wisdom we have gained.
