YTA Divorce is not a subject to even halfway joke about. You just made it 100% serious, not 50/50 like you thought.

Oof tough situation but tbh both NTA and YTA, YTA for joking about something as serious as divorce but also NTA for considering the divorce over her son, shes enabling him and is actively messing up his future, OP has a point that if something happens to them and thier wife the kid is screwed, OP provides 80% of everything to support peter living off them forever isn't good in anylight and OP is justified in saying that divorce would probably happen if peter hasn't gotton a job by 30
