why are they defending an abuser? NTA, op brought in people who were actually willing to do what needed to be done to protect the girl.

NTA! When a person cooks especially for a large gathering they don’t do the dishes! He’s just a terrible stepfather and if it took sending in the Hell’s Calvary to stop the abuse, kidnapping and theft then not a problem! As for them claiming they were sorting it out from the information given it’s been ongoing and she’s an adult! No adult should be treated like unpaid labor and since everyone knew and let it continue they were complicit!
