Proper tongue posture is actually with light suction on the roof of the mouth. It can actually help increase strength….am I missing something here?

How does this work for combat sports athletes i.e. boxers, wrestlers, grapplers and MMA fighters?

Depends on if you plan on taking a hit to the mouth/jaw area. You could probably use it for a spar just specify no mouth shots. But it most situations I would probably say no, just get a regular mouth guard
