AirVenture 2023: Garmin Autothrottle for King Airs
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
At AirVenture 2023 in Oshkosh, Garmin announced its first aftermarket automatic throttle system, plus the first aftermarket AutoLand system for a twin-engine aircraft. It brought an equipped King Air B200 to the show and Aviation Consumer Editor Larry Anglisano went flying with it for a demo with Garmin's Jessica Koss and Will Johnson.

Garmin is essentially a life extension program for any aircraft......especially B200 now. This is an amazing addition to capabilities.
That's what my King Air would look like...Auto Throttles and falling down interior panels! 😂

Clearly you know nothing about king airs. Rhe cockpit interior bulkheads are removed. Thats why you see the slots in the headliner where they sit. Guess im lucky i work on them

@@gabekremer7148 calm down...the plane has avionics nicer than a new one and a 30 year old torn up interior...it's funny, ya know...kind of like a joke...
Autothrottle is a game changer. I’ve only flown jets with an autothrottle and it makes flying so much easier, especially setting thrust on takeoff and for go arounds.
WOW BEAUTIFUL
they did it. wow. unreal.
thank you, Garmin from Overseas
That is amazing technology: for sure 🌏🇭🇲
Fantastic tech for the GA world!
This is awesome tech...maybe they can finally fix the servo issues on the GFC500....maybe?
How long before you have this for the CJ3+?
No mention, on autoland- once on the ground does it engage beta thrust and braking? What are the details of that please.
Cool technology. TMB also has this capability.
What has happened for a need of a Pilot ? Getting to be not much fun if you install all these different electronic equipment...Garmin sure is one of the top's.
how much does an hour of labour cost approx? 80 hours or 80+220 hours labour cant be cheap!

most shops are around 120ish an hour. 30k is a drop in the bucket. A base NXI upgrade is over 600k before you can even thinking about the auto throttles or auto land. I bet the whole system is upwards of 850k if you are starting with an original avionics stack.

If you’re a king air operator, I doubt the cost is your main issue. As a normal citizen you have nothing to worry about son.
For a lot of auto this and auto that , she looked busy….
I joined the world of aviation to learn and master the technicalities. I guess other people just want to press a button to go home. A $150,000 button.

Not the point *at all*. This is for emergency use in the event of pilot incapacitation.
Does it have auto-brakes or is it landing and sending your lifeless body flying off the departure end of the runway? lol
If you can’t work the throttles with your goddamn hand, shouldn’t be anywhere near a king air.
I have 7k in -200’s. This is suicide to install.
You have a prop governor go goofed on a -200. This device will kill you.
The king air 200 will kill you quick if anything goes bad with an engine. Garmin is all about making money b
