Translation: If you think you want to get an airline job, be ready to work for years for peanuts before you get a job at a regional. When you get on at a regional and major, know that you are going to be an FO for a long time, and that is going to get worse as the years go by. Right now the commercial pilot jobs are drying up, and as the word gets out that the party is totally over and the number of students drops off the CFIs will also jobs will drop off. This is about to be a train wreck.

Never underestimate the power of the average American consumer to frivolously spend every last cent that they have. You can see it everywhere. I used to deliver groceries and I would occasionally deliver to some of the trailer parks in the area. Even outside of some of the junkiest, trashiest, most run down mobile homes you would see brand new utvs parked out front.

Omg you are Mungo Jerry :) And yes planes are grossly overpriced and old junk. It seems like a very poor premise to further gentrify old overpriced junk instead of building new. It's not exactly hard to make a superior plane to the Cessna 172 Skytractor. Indeed it would be difficult to make it worse.

The con-servatives want you to believe they are CON trails 😂, and another thing they don't say is that this is a business and it is becoming increasingly so as climate change global warming gets worse. Scientists also acknowledge that this is a bandage, not a solution. Also very note worthy, these aircraft operate on a fuel derived from crude oil and it takes 2.5m years to bring back something that will not be economically viable by just 2060, so this is another reason why these operations are bandages!

They *_are_* contrails composed of water ice and are nothing more than a byproduct of jet engines operating in -40 F air with a high relative humidity. You appear to be referencing geoengineering through Stratospheric Aerosol Injection, which exists as lab experiments and computer modeling, only. Even if it were being implemented, which is doubtful due to environmental and geopolitical concerns, it would take place at much higher altitudes and would leave no visible trails.

This was a very impressive and thoughtful interview. When my flying days were over I became a computer programmer which further supported my suspicion that the human element was the weakest component of any system. As skeptical as I am of AI (AI as in heuristic algorithms not the populist recursive search engines), I believe its greatest promise is in removing the unreliable human brains from critical systems. RIP Snort.
