Hi M. I think you did an excellent job personally, considering an endless fraught of difficulties putting the kit together, filling in with lots of filler and trying to match the birds camouflage or natural colours in the wild. Yes a great job in my view. I never really knew Airfix covered anything like this or if I did I've probably forgot. Having said that I do think that if Airfix re released this kit or anything else connected within the natural world they'll need to think about a more sturdier way of point of fix of parts so that the kit comes together a lot easier and secure on the build. Finally, just make sure the Little Owl flies to your mum as soon as possible in case bless him, Archie has any ideas oooooh dear. Bye for now Dean.

Archie was scared of it for a bit, but ultimately it is now hidden behind a cabinet until I can get it to my mum! 😂💜

Well you deserve a big thumbs up for this one, I would have quit and drop kicked the kit into the nearest bin when Extra thin didn't work! Well done on the finished item a real save there.

Remarkable job! I put together and painted a Life-Like 1:1 Mallard. I was maybe 9 or 10. I'm certain it was horrid but I presented it to my Mom and she proudly put it on her bedroom nightstand. The last I recall seeing it, was still there when I joined the U.S. Marines in 1984.

Back in the day I had a few of the Airfix animals/birds - I made the Blue-Tits for my mother. I was coming up 14 when they came out in '77 - We had budgies at the time - so I painted them up to match our budgies' colours.... One white with blue and black trim, the other a standard yellow and green colouring. The blue-tit size/shape did look rather 'chubby' for budgies... but my mother loved them.

used to make models for my mother when I was young mostly Aurora animals she always put them on show in the living room , don't think she was so keen on the glow in the dark movie monsters though Lol ( although she put them in the living room as well )

Interested, never see modeling kits have animals. I always do planes,yanks auto and ships. Some day I'll try do some animals. Thank you for show us.
