Airco D.H.2 demo flight in "Rise Of Flight"
Ойындар
Airco D.H.2 short flight with full ammo load and 20% fuel load (about 24 litres). Ingame graphics and sound. And amazing ingame physics simulation of course.

There was very fast progress in the WW1 aviation. DH2 were operating only 12 months from february 1916 to february 1917. After arrival to the frontline german Albatros DII, all DH2 were replaced wiht Sopwith Pup and Triplane - next generation of fighters. It is impossible to make adequate comparison with other British fighter, because there is no any British contemporary of DH2 in "Rise Of Flight" at the moment. Many of ROF users want to see early planes, and maybe developers should hear us :)
Saw a pilot do full aerobatics in a glider at the Mid Atlantic Air Museum back in the 90s. He started at 12k and did, chandelles, barrel rolls, loops, slips, hammer stalls (I about choked seeing that) and the whole gamut of other maneuvers. Frigging amazing!
i ran it on my laptop with 40 frames just fine, it was dual core i5 520! this game is amazing!
Google FreeTrack. It's a free head tracking software. There are detailed instructions on how to build the hardware parts for really cheap. Basically you only need a webcam and 3 led lights and the free software. It works just as well as the expensive TrackIR device.
fantastic as always!
Wow, Gnome rotary. Amazing type of engine, I think! Thanks a lot!
man nice stuff!!!! I'd show some of the damage effects also like mid air collision! Great video!
I am not actual pilot, just have flown much time in RoF. About video card: adjusting graphic settings in RoF allows to use not very powerful graphic device. But your computer must have powerful CPU for computing physics in RoF without droping FPS. Quad-core recomended.
I'm a real pilot and your flying is amazing! Bravo! In your opinion, is the Airco DH.2 a good solid fighter, compared to the other British fighters? On a 1 to 10 scale, where would you place it (10 being best)?
Cool video, looks like a fun play to fly
I would have loved to have seen this when I built my model I drooled over the cockpit layout Thank you

Beryl Price do you have the game? It's free :)

Beryl Price no worries, I have a few models myself. I'll be getting an R.E.8. soon :)
Try to set "Reflection maximum" and "Shaders quality maximum" in graphic settings.
If you want to buy this game you must download free demo version. Demo version is unlimited for SPAD 13 and Albatros D5A. Then you can buy other planes in your choice in the store of the official site.
TrackIR is a head tracking software that makes it easier to look around, and makes the game more "immersive", I fly fine with out it though.
sadly i cant download this awsome game the planes are badass
Great demo! Are you an actual pilot? I've watched lots of RoF vedios on youtube and most are showing uncoordinated flight. I am told that to run RoF on my computer will cost around $400.00 for the proper video card.
молодец, очень хороший ролик!!!
so i can not buy the full game?
can you play this game without using TrackIR or a joystick
Even glider without engine can make a loop. Just must have energy enough befor making it.
Rag wings and wicker seats... what's not to like?
is this plane in the game when you buy the game
Anyone know how the 7750 2gb or the nvidia 640 2gb will fair with this game. Thanks if you do! :-)
Yes, you can fly SPAD 13 and Albatros D5A for free.
the 7750 and the 640 are pretty ok at handling this game
@pafc15891974 it is possible to fly without TrackIR and joystick, but it is not so realistic
I have my doubts that this vintage aircraft is able to fly a looping with its week engine. But the graphics of the landscape are awesome.
I knew it...
sudah mo terbang tapi lepas kendali pas mo mendarat
he apalagi pesawat grob

2:00 they kinda ruin the realism here. How the heck is the engine just starting itself. You need a guy in the back there to spin it after he primes it by hand. And no way the engine would be ready from a cold start in 5 seconds for maximum takeoff power. They ran like total poop until it was warmed up, especially considering they didn't have multi-viscosity oil like we do today.

Rotary engines will go to full power and run smoothly in a surprisingly short time. They do need to be primed and require an "Armstrong starter".

Rotary engines had only two settings: on and off, and they only warmed up the engines for about 30 seconds before taking off. Also, the engine starting is simulated as being done by a man turning the prop. It’s just that doing the animations for actually having a man there would have taken up precious development time for something not many people would appreciate all that much.

@@williamsmith9763 One, that's total nonsense as rotary engines did have throttles. The very earliest only had blip switches, but they added throttles shortly after where you could alter the amount of air and fuel allowed into the engine to increase or decrease engine speed and power. You'll see gauges and controls for this on the aircraft. In addition to that control, many rotaries could change how many cylinders were firing from all 9 to just 7 or 5 or even only 3, again reducing engine RPM and power. Any airshow I have gone to they always warm the engines up and until up to operating temperature you can hear how poorly they run. The metals have to expand and the oil thin out, otherwise tolerances are way off. It may not take crazy long, but they'd usually keep it on the ground for at least five minutes.
