Odd, I was always taught to not simply roll out and gun it-but to hold the brakes-run the engine up to at least 2000RPM, verify fuel flow and release the breaks-monitoring fuel flow closely

Jerry, love the videos! I am not a pilot, but have a quick question. Since you have a new engine, would flying at higher altitude over the mountains be safer until you have more time on the engine? Altitude would increase safety margins in case of an emergency. Thanks
@Jerry.Wagner
Жыл бұрын
NO, 30 minute test flight and then engine inspection, just me with low fuel so flying low not an issue if one of the engines decide to act up
@johnfitzpatrick2469 Жыл бұрын
Hello Wagner Air from Sydney Australia. Thank you for your latest video in the 421. I can now analyse the panel instruments. I always have a question; After takeoff the throttle quadrant power levers were close setting, then at destination, reduced the L power. Is this because it's new and producing more HP? I'm surprised the A&P didn't replace the orange rubber air seal at the back while in the shop? 🪃🌏
@alexmikhael5061 Жыл бұрын
hummm there should be a way to make a ''wireless charger plate'' that is also ''ferris'' for da magnetz lol to stick a camera case to so you can wire up that POINT and it can charge the camare (all time on) or you can sit the fone on the ''charger plate'' to charge a wireless chargin fone or earbuds or blutooth speaker... eh... yea... ummm cuz I understand why one dont really want a bunch of WIRES ALL OVER THE PLACE running to all the cameras to have constant voltage from power jacks....at least I THINK I do lol

how much did a new one cost good luck !!!
@engineeringoyster62437 ай бұрын
The mixture levers were noticeably split. Maybe consistent with the difference in fuel flow. Any discussion of this?

Question as to replacing engine or engines. Do you go for an overhaul? Have an overhauled engine standing by? Buy a pulled engine to overhaul at Texas TAS or similar? Cost wise for each of these options. Got some guy quoting 110K-120K. Not a cheap piston twin to maintain. I realize these are a turbo geared. Thanks. Cheaper to run an Aerostar?
@Jerry.Wagner

bought two low time engines that had a prop strike and had an IRAN performed and those are now on the plane, first option was $85 overhauled engines from Ram but they were on a one year waiting list

Jerry, you raised the flaps 5 seconds after touchdown

Correct. short downhill runway and density altitude makes it a good decision to raise the flaps to put more weight on the wheels to increase braking power

@@Jerry.Wagner Ok, but its 3,700 feet now I used to fly my Baron 58TC in there when it was 3,100 feet, no issues. Had or it still has a great airport restaurant. good breakfast. You eat there much? N8132Q, Jerry didn't you own the C-414? On 10/08/2020 the FAA Accident Database details the runway overun on an aborted takeoff. Seens the gust lock was still installed. The copilot chopped the throttles and ran off the runway end. I recall in your early flights after purchase of c-414, one main gear was always slower to extend. Im guessing something to do with the accident. Accident happened in Flordia. Welcome back Golden Eagle C -421
