    The loud clunking noises at the start of the video are the different contactors in the control panel kicking in to power the siren up and opperate the damper solenoid and the solenoid itself operating

    One thing that strikes me about the concept of using sirens after a nuclear attack is that the sirens themselves could have easily been destroyed by the blast or heat, and if they hadn't, that their electrics would have been ruined by the electromagnetic pulse.

    Plan was to sound them before incoming, wb1400 carrier reciever that signalled it to start was emp profed in an all metal case , effectively a Faraday cage , but once the first bomb went off the uk power grid would fail , so no all clear
