This is one of the most informational and easy videos to follow. I’ve been a service tech for 2 years and I still go back and watch videos to keep me refreshed. This video is hands down one of the best. I’m located in south Florida and we had a some cold weather this past winter, and this video alone helped me diagnose a bunch of heating calls. We don’t really get them down here so I’m not always practicing checking heaters

I agree 100% with you Art. I had a shitload of questions about how a 10kw heat strip was wired and how they operate in general. This guy doing the video was all about educating the novice technician as well as the very experienced tech. Made everything clear and answered all of my questions. Very good information presented at a professional level. No need for other videos...my man has it ALL COVERED. Peace to ya brother.

Excellent video to prepare for return HVAC tech repair. Had blower but no heat, aux heat light flashing in unoccupied building after turning temp higher for cold weather. Found the HVAC tech did a maintenance service call weeks ago but failed to insert the power disconnect plug at outside heat pump. Installed disconnect and Heat Pump worked, but concerned if weeks of heat strip only damaged limit switches, fuse or heat strips as blower worked but no hot air prior to reinsertion of power disconnect plug.

This is great information. I have a Trane unit almost identical to this and the fan delay relay was changed out but with a rly2807 that has normally open connector on relay. And in ac relay works fine, but in heat mode the fan will not come on unless thermostat switch fan on. I think someone put the wrong relay on this unit, as you said this system should have a normally closed relay.

I run a company and use your videos to help out my newer techs. It saves me a lot of time. You do a great job explaining in detail. However you made one mistake, on the single sequencer (M1,M2,M3,M4) the upper and lower level contacts close at the same time, 1-20 seconds. When you have a dual heat sequencer, 2 side by side or a second sequencer (M5,M6,M7,M8) powering the 3rd and 4th heat strips, the second one will close at the later time of 30-90 seconds. I just wanted to clear that up for newer techs watching this.

Thank you for the helpful videos. I've run into an issue with my electric furnace that happens atleast once ever couple of days: The thermostat will call for heat, but the furnace never comes on. While testing, the only way i've gotten it to work again is jumping the fan wires (R & G) for a second or two. 5 seconds after I do that, the furnace will kick on again and go off at the specified temperature. Do you know what could be causing this and how to troubleshoot? Last time this happened, jumping R and W did not work.

If you wanted to disconnect the emergency heat for a generator, which wire would you break with the low voltage wire coming from the automatic transfer switch for the generator?

Hi there I have an air handler RHSL-HM2417JA and it is setup the same like in the video. I need to replace the wires from the breaker because they burned. My question is what are the gauges of the wires coming out of the breaker and what brand of wire do you recommend? Thank you for your time.

I watched your video and was able to diagnose that the fuse is bad in my Warren WKF1002 10K heater. Where can I buy the fuses? There's no number on the fuse itself.

Hello, Thanks for informative video. I have quick question - recently, i have replaced my old 5k heat strip with 10k strip and connected all red/black wire as it was on 5k. But, when my unit runs it doesn't seems to be hot enough. Not sure if replacing with 10k did anything so I am not sure if I did something wrong? Please let me know if you can guide me. thanks

I have a heat pump and my AC and Heat pump work fine. I tested my emergency heat by changing the mode at my thermostat and my blower turned on but no hot air was produced. If the blower is on, does that rule out any concerns of a bad/tripped breaker?

Hi there! Was wondering if you’ve ever come across a transformer going bad due to issues with the motor or power coming into the transformer? I keep losing my transformer but I don’t think it’s a LV short because my fuse never gives. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Any help would be appreciated!

So is the green wire powered in heating? Or does that purple wire give 240 to the blower motor and turn it on? The purple wire on that relay is what confused me a bit?

Question I have a champion brand that I think used to be a York but they change name or idk but my question is why is the air handler connected with a breaker in the unit instead of being connected with a terminal i had technicians that are confused and not knowing if that even supposed to be wired that way

I have a 2-pole 20a breaker feeding my air handler. Added heat strips, when the heat is on the breaker hums? Just on the cool setting, it draws under 10a, when the heat comes on it draws 20.1a ? What gives?

Hello, I love your videos. Can you explain why we need a breaker when we have electric heat strips. Would I connect just the heat strips to the breaker or can I put the high voltage directly to the transformer from the breaker or separate.
