Thanks mate, I must admit I did not mess around with the filter on my 3.2, that had a panel insert as well, I don't know why I just put more about the exhaust

I got the large Proram with the velocity stack, love the noise. Added the ramair heatshield and a red silicone coupling.

Got a Proram on my 180 stage 1 and it was like permanently on boost and was silly rapid up to legal limits but topped out shortly over that. My 225 stage 1 has a Ramair foam filter which I’m thinking about swapping out for a Proram but the Ramair looks like almost new, I bought the car with it fitted. It’s the only reason I haven’t replaced it, it seems so new.

Apart from looks there is very little in it, so I would just stick with it until either looks tired or do you fancy a change, it will always sell and someone will always buy secondhand, there is such a good market

I have a s2000 air filter on mine slots straight over the maf, nice and cheap too only £20

Everytime I see your engine bay it reminds me that I haven't washed my car.....I'm almost scared to lift the bonnet!!! Yours looks better each week. are you going to stay with the those metal covers for oil filler etc?

Thank you, I always go for the easiest clean option as I'm not a fan of cleaning under the Bonnet very often. I am going to get those covers anodised black so they do not require polishing ha ha

fancy putting an air intake pipe & air filter with heat shield. & a boost gage & holder let me know . One day next week. Would great . Name a day & time what price you would do it for ? It’s a 2003 mk1 Audi Tt 180bhp 1.8 convertible, Quattro

I appreciate the offer but I do not work on other peoples cars, I have enough on my plate trying to keep my two on the road ha ha

I bought a pipercross viper kit for my mark one years ago, but when I went to get the car remapped it actually reduced performance over the stock air filter. The shop showed me run graphs with both, and I ended up putting back to stock. If you are gonna remap it it might be worth getting runs done with the stock and aftermarket filter

That's a great point, some can actually reduce performance especially if they are enclosed filters as you are limiting the amount of air that they can taking, they are better suited to normally aspirated cars

Im guessing the forge one is standard size? no performance increase?

That's correct it is a stock replacement

Is there a new charge pipe available for the 180 anywhere? Have found a filter and intake but can't seem to find that

Not to my knowledge, however if you were to fit a front mount intercooler if you follow the mark four golf procedure you can change the routing of your pipework and it gives you what it looks like a nice charge pipe
