I'd love to see more testing with a 25mm fan on the IS-55. That would bring these 2 coolers to the same height of 67mm. Toss in the Thermalright AXP120x67 and we would have a 3 way battle.

could you find some information what would be better? i am not sure which i should choose. a big shuriken 3 with slim noctua fan a12x15, or the is-55 with 25mm high static pressure fan the a12x25 from noctua.

yes for my build in the fractal ridge some of my friends told me to put in big shuriken 3 , but i end up put IS -55 with silent wings 4 , the thermal is quite similar but i got the very very quiet fan compared with the slim kazeflex , also IS -55 is a lot cheaper than big shuriken 3
Nice review. Would appreciate if you could add the Thermalright AXP120x67 CPU cooler to the comparison. A second part to this comparison would be using a 25mm fan on the IS-55 bringing it to 65mm height versus both the Scythe & Thermalright coolers at 67mm height.
Literally the exact problem I’m bout to face when my T1 v2 comes in a week, been waiting for this video! Thanks man!
Running an undervolted 12400 in this case with a Noctua L9i and it’s perfect. No more than 70C during a 30 minute Cinebench r23 run and with my 3080ti going full blast while gaming the CPU sits around 55-65C. Love this case!

@@MachinesMore I ditched it a good while ago. While serviceable it was annoyingly noisy under load. Although I had it in a bigger mATX case at the time temps where about the same as the L9i, maybe a couple degrees cooler on the Noctua.

I brought my IS-55 as close to the steel mesh as possible (3.25 slot gpu config) then used some weather stripping on the hs to create an air tight seal against the steel mesh when closed. Then I used some magnetic tape to fashion the slim 120mm fan to the outside of the case where is blows directly into the heastink. Through my improvised ducting. My Temps are completely normal with PBO bringing my 5600x up to 4.7ghz. It's a completely tool-less mod that allows my 3080 Ventus much more room to breathe. It has so much room that I plan to try out a deshroud mod to see if I can at least have a quieter setup.
I'm wondering would the IS-55 at all fit with the A4-H2O? I mean would the fan blades be too close to the side panel that it hits or would there be enough clearance to run comfortably?
@Spawn223311

I'm searching the same thing. Should fit since the case has a max cpu cooler height of 55mm
great you caught is55 too I have been considering this or the is60 evo with t30 for the meshy
IS 55+T30=70mm😄
Hi there! I noticed that you are using Corsair LPX RAM, which has a height of 34mm, the ID IS-55 only supports RAM height of 33mm, if mobo VRM heatsink doesn't have enough clearance. May I ask further on how you managed to fit the cooler?

the IDcooling graphic is weird. in the RAM compatibility image used, it actually is using the HyperX Savage DDR4 as visualization - but that height of that specific RAM is 34MM and does not have a RGB/ARGB variant. Corsair LPX is also the same thing, its 34MM as stated by Corsair's datasheet but it works on this build as seen in the video. must be a very tight fit if that's the case
Great Review, can you compare is50x v2 vs is55
I'd love to see how this stacks up to a L9 with fan ducts in a Lian Li A4 H2O, given that that case only has 55mm of clearance.

Did you find anything on this?
I was looking at exactly these LP coolers, and the Black Ridge. But one thing I can't find anywhere is if they are compatible with the Asus B660-I. I have 73mm of height so I would use the 25mm fan on top
@mikeymaiku

the m.2 / io shroud conlicts on some asus strix boards and apparrently u cannot remove the stacked m.2 board and boot . my z490i is in the same boat but im hardlocked at 55mm clearance :( *edit* i mean in terms of the blackridge
you need more b-roll of the finished build
I'd be interested to see your thoughts on the Fractal Ridge -- and especially the Ridge + IS-55
Thanks for the info. Helped me fig out the asus 570 compatibility with these two coolers. I had a feeling one might not work so well 😅😉
Does anyone know if the IS-55 can be used aorus b550 ax pro itx motherboard, with the overhang on the IO side? The specs for the IS-55 state a 33mm max RAM clearance which seems pretty limiting, but you seem to manage to use 34mm Corsair LPX RAM...

Same question bro, I'm looking to build a new itx set up but don't know wich MoBo it's compatible with this is-55 and my current 4000mhz 45mm ram... Most of the Am4 have a beefy vrm heatsink and could easily surpass the 33mm height of this cooler
@engnelsito
Жыл бұрын
@@stephancardenas-navarro127 at the moment, I am using the Scythe Shuriken 2 with an offset fan adapter which allowed to replace the stock 92mm slim fan spinning at 2500rpm (quite noisy at full speed) with a 120mm slim fan. At 1800rpm, the 120mm slim fan is much quiter and perform better than the original (lower the CPU temps in a few degrees). This solution is still still under 60mm and the offset fan adapter allows to position the fan to any position to minimize interference with other components, resulting in ample RAM clearance. I was just wondering if the IS-55 would be a better solution, but I don't think it could fit unless I switch to low profile RAM.

@@engnelsito the pure wings 2 92mm is very quiet, also can try arctic F9 which is very quiet as well
Really looking for information about the is-55 ram clearance... Rotation of the cooler over the vrm heat sink solves any ram clearance issues... However we don't know which MoBo is compatible with this configuration... Can you make a video with MoBo's compatible with this 33mm height for the vrm heatsink with the ID Is-55?? Thank you in advance

The vast majority of modern motherboards with an IO shroud would be incompatible if you rotate the cooler. You would have to look at low end motherboards such as A620 chipset with no IO shroud.
For the IS-55 I saw you hadn't shown the spacing of when you did manager to get it to fit, do you know/remember if it would fit with the 58mm CPU Cooler height mounting or does that also still cause issues with that structural member of the case?
Is there any chance you can review PCCOOLER / Hummingbird I100 series?
Which motherboard are you using?? Cause it seems to me the one I want but I can’t really tell, it’s the rot strix x670 ei??
I'll be building in either this or in H2o, 7900X + 4080 (Guess I'll need 1000w sfx PSU).
are both of these better than noctua l12 ghost edition?
Loving my IS-55, it's a great performer for a reasonable price

Could you tell me please what’s the best cpu cooler for the Asus Strix Z690-I?

Saw in a forum that a good option is to use an arctic p12 slim since gives you a decent price to performance with the is-55 improving the temps due to having a much better static pressure than the stock fan... Also is 120x15mm

hello, I have Corsair Led Ram Modules, would I have enough clearance to put the ID Cooling Is-55?

depending on your clearance with your I/O area if it does have a cover, you can as long as you rotate the heatsink around like what he did with the BS3 in this video
Will the Scythe cpu cooler keep a Ryzen 9 5900x cool?
Any thoughts on air cooling a 12600K in this case?

Big Shuriken 3 should do the trick as long as you are OK with high fan speeds for all core processes. For gaming only, absolutely should be fine (but in that scenario I’d say just go 12400 and save $$).
The ID - 55 has 33mm clearance for both the ram and io shield. my ram is too tall for this cooler , this leave me with only one option to hang the 120mm fan to the io shield side. Did u encounter any compatibility issue install that way?
@MachinesMore

Basically it- I have LPX RAM so I had to install it where the support bar of the case crosses over, which doesn’t make the best use of its low height, but it’s not the end of the world either.
