I cannot express how thankful I am to you. My system shut down in NC during this 100° heat wave. Turned out the system in the attic was filled with water. I sucked out the water with a shop vacuum and it fired back up again with no issues. Tomorrow I will cut the evap pvc pipe, clear it out amd use pvc unions to reconnect it. Sir, you saved me a fortune. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi! Thanks for this video. In the past couple of months, sometimes when we push the thermostat down a few degrees, it won’t trigger the on. It’ll flash “cool on” but the AC doesn’t turn on. I then turn off the system and then reset the circuit breaker. When I turn it on again it starts working. It doesn’t appear to be a condensate drain line problem as water isn’t backed up. Also, the unit is only 2 years old, got it installed a couple of years ago. Do you have a sense of what this could be? I don’t understand why it always works after resetting the circuit breaker for AC. (The breaker doesn’t appear to be tripped when I reset.)

Looling for suggestion: AC unit went out and the capacitor was changed on the first service visit. Was told need a new unit but Choice warranty approved to change the compressor instead. Ok, compressor was changed yesterday and house back cooling. Here's the issue, the air filter needed to be changed so I head up to attic (turned off AC at thermostat) and changed the filter. Turn thermostat back on to cool, and the AC unit outside never kicked on. Checked breaker and everything and still does not come on. Any suggestions on what it could be? Serviceman cannot come back out until next week. 😩 Thanks in advance,

My ac unit at this rental looks older than anything you've showed. Their is a pvp pipe coming out, but it's just ran down the side, and then parallel to the ground, down to a drain in my basement. Not scorching yet but it is almost 80 and ac unit won't work. Landlord said he will get someone out here tomorrow. Worst part is I absolutely can't sleep when I'm hot. I keep it around 65-67 when I'm going to sleep. 😪

Hello, I live in South Florid and I have a brand new AC (2 weeks old) ever since it was installed, it runs for about 7 minutes every hour or so. The Thermostat states the temperature desired is reached, and therefore it just turns once (for 7 minutes) every hour. We set the temp for 72 before bed, and it will just run these 7 mins per hour to maintain that temp. Now, if I lower the temp by a couple of degrees then it will run for about 12 minutes… However, still just once per hour. Please let me know what could be the issue. Brand new Ac/Thermostat.

I had a new fan motor and capacitor replaced just over a year ago and am having the same issue. When I first turn on the cool setting, the compressor would kick on and try to start for about 5 seconds then shuts off. Only the fan would stay running. I need to shut off the thermostat and wait a few minutes to try again. Then on the 2nd attempt, the compressor would stay running and continue blowing cold air. Is it a possibility that the capacitor has gone bad in such a short time?

Oh the nest the number #1 issue with those are the common wires not being connected at the time thermostat or at the air handler or period due off factory charge . I always check to see if common is connected, not recommended but I grab a little piece of wire and barely touch r and c to see a little spark (ounce again not recommended) keeps you from going in air handler attic up stairs etc …. You know common is connected SO I then hook it to the thermostat or connect it at the board air handler etc..

Just to mention I learned about the word tau , and the capacitor charges up and then discharges in 5 tau. ! 1 tau. 2. Tau. 3 tau. 4. Tau. and 5 tau The capacitor will start a motor up in 5 tau then the contact will close if I remember really well ! The capacitor and contact combination are a parallel combination in series with one leg of the motor or one hot wire!

My window AC buttons/control panel suddenly stopped working yesterday. The AC was at 68° then the buttons/control panel stopped working. I played around with the buttons and it went down to 60° and then I wasn't able to move it back up or even turn it off or on. The buttons completely stopped working. Then today I pressed the off button and it surprisingly worked, but now it isn't turning back on at all. It's 100°+ And I have no AC!! Unfortunately I don't have the tools or money to fix it

@@maliamarsh02 I stopped trying and after a week I turned it back on and it started working all of a sudden. But whenever it rains really hard the same thing happens. I try not to mess with the temperature and just leave it at 70
