Jarrel yes. I defended that girl so many times when the show was on. They treated Mercedes badly for no reason. She was pretty, talented, smart and didn’t take anyone’s racist B.S.

Actually, Artie had always been written as a- and this is the only way I can think to put this- 'a white kid with soul.' The writers subtly put that into Artie's character and it was one of the more flattering, diversifying aspects of the show. We even see him later morph into a film director, which is perfect for the character.

We can't deny that, while the Glee Club was scripted to believe Rachel was their star, the Glee CAST knew it was actually Mercedes/Amber. Their reactions to her performances say it all, and damn it if we wouldn't react the same, listening to Amber is a whole experience! For me, however, there's no better voice than the other. I believe there's a technique, a style, a genre and a place for everything. I truly admire voices like Lea's, Naya's, Amber's and Chris', and they're all so different! That's truly amazing. That talent🤍

She strains a lot, her runs are sloppy and forced and a lot of the time her belting is just her screaming. Her voice is damaged from what she's done and Demi's "soulful voice" is not actually soulful. It pales in comparison to singers like Amber Riley, Avery Wilson, Jazmine Sullivan, Jojo, Shoshanna etc. who have real, soulful voices
