@@fareshajjar1208There's original footage where the melody was improvised. Carolyn had already wrote the song. Since Aretha couldn't read music they clapped to get the melody.

I have to disagree. Jennifer's vocal are way too loud and powerful for Aretha. Aretha had a powerful voice, but not that powerful and not that loud. Aretha was just church & soul all wrapped up in one vs. Jennifer's voice. Powerful & Loud. I think that maybe Denetria Champ would have exumed Aretha vocally perfectly.

This is one of those biopics where the vocals actually had the feel of the “era”. Instead of feeling detached because of the distance of time, this felt perfectly “at home” in the 60s
praise carolyn franklin for her amazing lyrics, cissy houston for the hauting and heartbreaking high notes and the legendary aretha franklin and her majestic interpretation of this song history was made this day!!

Fun facts cissy Houston was cousins of Leontyne Price who is regarded as one of Opera’s best vocalist EVER and at one time was the most decorated and highest paid opera singer…… as a black woman.

Exactly she's incredible because everyone knows that when a person does a biopic about a singer no one ever sings live they are always lip syncing to the artist voice playing. Jennifer didn't lip sync at all it's all her live which is so incredible and she didn't get enough respect for it in my opinion.

The whole movie I was completely captivated. Suddenly in this scene I found myself just crying.
it must be one of the finest moments in recording history when the queen of herself and cissy houston along with other musicians were in the same room.
Watched this in IMAX and it gave me chills and made me cry at the same time.
The gentleness she sang the bridge with was unbelievable. Phenomenal.

This is my all time favorite by Aretha, and this scene has almost brought me to tears!
Aint no way is my absolute favourite song on this planet. I have never felt these roaring burst of emotions while I listen to this song. Queen Aretha was able to captivate the most pure form of singing through this and every other song she had. However, with this one particularly the vulnerability of the singer is really shining throughout the song and it just makes me feel like a human rather than a perfect being. Jhud did a great job with the song. She is a power house and a very talented singer

I watched this a few hours ago and I was very impressed indeed,it didn’t shy away from Aretha being groomed,having becoming a mother in her childhood,alcohol issues and being in an abusive relationship.That being said it didn’t tackle her father and his predatory ways with young girls AND getting one of them pregnant 😖
This isn‘t even her normal singing voice & she nailed it.With Jhud it’s either tears or a standing ovation.Keep in mind that she is acting & not trying to be Aretha to all you critics.
