Aimee Mann "Voices Carry" 6-30-17 at North Church (Portsmouth, NH)

Last encore song (both in Portsmouth and Bethlehem, NH the next night). With Jonathan Coulton. Played during her Grammy-winning "Mental Illness" album tour. See radi.al/MentalIllness Portsmouth concert was part of Prescott Park Arts Festival (moved indoors due to rain). I caught her again singing this on the JoCo2018 cruise, see • Aimee Mann "Voices Car... .

Rick Rodriguez I've only heard it at the grocery store once. It was 2 days after I recorded this. I ran into her at a cafe the morning after her Bethlehem, NH show (the following evening). I stopped at the grocery store on the way home and and just froze in disbelief when it came on. Wild that I saw her 3 days in a row in NH and hours later in VT I hear the original recording being played. Sometimes the universe just lines up in surprising ways.

She seems like a great person with an excellent sense of humor. She makes appearances in "Portlandia" and it's great. I just watched the clip of her performing this song many years ago..when we were all young...stunningly beautiful. And is now as well with that crystal clear voice.

Love this version! It really captures the greatness and timelessness of the song. This song could be released now and still be amazing!

Last time I saw Aimee Mann was on vh1’s Where Are They Now? After 36 years, her voice and age have held up well.

The original video still gives me chills. The final scene in "Carnegie" is wonderful and powerful. A woman standing up for herself, literally.
