    @jewelerstars Nope, do u even know what Iraq is? How old are you? This was around the time Iraq was in constant straights with the U.S. and in the news every single morning, day, night. Not to mention in the context she mentioned nukes before as well, and a common conspiracy was that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. That's just how some people pronounce "Iraq". But I see a bunch of comments about "a rock", smh.

    @@YooTooLoB no, not even killers need to be killed. You don’t solve any problem like this. You think that society will be better if you kill criminals? You think that people will stop committing crimes? If you believe (like me) that she should have not been executed because you know her story, why this “logic” should not apply to other criminals with a similar background?

  • @PiCheZvara
    @PiCheZvara Жыл бұрын

    She never met her father who was in jail. Her father had schizophrenia. He was convicted of raping a 7 year old girl, and he hung himself in prison. That's his story. Her mom abandoned Aileen when she was 4 and left her with her grandparents, who were alcoholics. Her grandfather sexually abused her, and at 14 she was pregnant when a friend of her grandfather raped her. At 15, her grandfather threw her out of the house. Her brother later on died from cancer. She was a small-time criminal by then, but some time after his death, she attempted suicide by shooting herself in the stomach. Her first murder was at age 33. I firmly believe that most young people try to be hopeful, optimistic and give life a shot, in their own way. For most, if things don't somewhat fall into place by 32-33 and reach a point of being content with life, then it can start to deteriorate, especially if the people have less support at home, or in general from friends. This applies IMO in general to everyone, those who had a normal life aren't even aware of this maybe. Now look at the life she had and the cards she was dealt with. Dysfunctional home, young mother, being poor, absent father who had mental issues and killed himself, mother abandoned her at 4, grandparents alcoholics, grandfather abused her, his friend raped her at 14. Imagine the weekends at home, imagine the Christmases, the holidays, the birthdays and so on. How exactly is one person supposed to push through all this crap and come out normal, content, functional member of society? Can you imagine how hard it is for such a person to trust others and overcome her imperfections and flaws? When most people you meet just judge you and expect you to be like them and then you still meet the worse ones looking to hurt you and take advantage of you? So at 33, she just crossed that threshold of having maybe some last glimmer of hope and she just stopped caring entirely and did what she did. Her upbringing and past doesn't excuse her crimes, and she objectively deserved punishment for them, because they were too severe...but can you say it's a display of her being cruel and evil, or a display of some person simply not being strong enough to overcome the ridiculous odds that were stacked against her? Every single human being has a threshold where they crack. If someone overcomes such odds like she had, it's a miracle really. And if he/she doesn't, well, as they say, it really is what it is, what can you do. A sad, tragic story.

    For years after her arrest, Wuornos claimed she was the victim. But on death row two years ago, she told Metz she killed the men in cold blood, something she's repeated again and again this year. "I robbed them, and I killed them as cold as ice, and I would do it again, and I know I would kill another person because I've hated humans for a long time," Wuornos stated.

No. The reason i feel sorry for her is because she was sexually and physically abused all of her life. No one saved her. Violence is the only thing she was taught. I did not treat her so i cant say if she was a sociopath or not all i know is she needed mental health help and didnt recieve it. I am all for the death penalty. I am very conservative in my values and beliefs and would vote for Trump if i were in the US, but i do not believe the death penalty was appropriate in this case. Not because shes a female, i think the same way about Charles Manson. I see a lost soul who was prayed upon by sick men who physically and sexually abused her. In some countries THEY would have been put to death. Many in the comment section feel the way i do about her, go ask them.

I don't think Aileen is completely mad but in the period in which she was gunning down men it's very clear that she was a bit out of her mind and extremely paranoid. She stated on multiple occasions that a number of the men she killed she PERCEIVED as being threats and took them out BEFORE they had the abillity to do anything to her, in many cases when they had retreated and were outside of her vehicle. Sorry- but I don't know whats insane, if gunning down retreating perceived threats isn't. I have always felt a special connection to her. I grew up abused for 19 years and had other traumatic happenings peppered in throughout the years. There comes a point where you feel as if you've been spiritually gutted. The energy you once had is ciphened out until nothing is left but static. It's frightening and uncomfortable for someone who previously felt things and thought normally about life. The only thing you can do is accept the mental disarray that follows the numbness. Your brain is essentially using defibrillation on itself in an attempt to function in a survival-conducive manner. Its trying to save you so you can care enough to meet the most basic of human needs, let alone the intermediate needs. The result is chaotic, some kind of demonic influence on the mind. You'll do anything and everything just to spark the fire again, and you'll turn to substances because you don't even care if your happiness is fake. As for the killing, this is what happens when someone is betrayed by their support system early in life. You don't understand how hard it is to care about people when you started out knowing no one cared about you. You have to be your own lover, friend and protector. She did what she had to do.
