@@jessev5542 actually, he compliments McD’s system extremely well. Pocket passer from under center, excels at timing and delivery. McD’s system calls for a guy that doesn’t go off script and throws with accuracy and anticipation. I didn’t watch much Purdue but those traits show up in these clips

I like his accuracy and ball placement. I watched his highlight videos 3 times now and what worries me is every single pass he threw he was starring down his receivers the whole time. In the entire film he only scanned the field 2 times. You know that won’t work in the NFL. He will be throwing INTs left and right.

This guy's release is insane. By the time in the windup/release I would expect to see the ball come out, it's already five yards down the field. He doesn't have the biggest arm but he puts incredible zip on the ball and it comes out so quick the defenders can't react to it. Future Raiders starter right here. RNFL

I was thinking Alex Smith. Has the extra ability to run when needed. Throws short and intermediate with zip and accuracy. Has to wind up for the deep pass but has the ability to do it. It’s funny that we both think he looks like 2 separate first overall picks of yesteryear but he’s not even gonna sniff the first round in today’s NFL. Edit: And not to disagree with you completely. I do see what you see about Eli. Eli had unappreciated ability to scramble out of a sack until he was about 34.

Given how much time McDaniels spent in New England, I'm not surprised that he's looking for another Tom Brady.

Guy seems to have an uncanny ability to put the ball exactly where it needs to be.

A year later…….I’m watching his highlights, finally, after all the drama from McDaniels last season, AP as the new head coach, and a wild CW FA signing! I can see why I brushed him off last year. His body language as a rookie looked to me like he didn’t play football if he wasn’t wearing a uniform. Looked like a typical, chill dude. I watched all his college highlights and it’s obvious that he’s used to playing on or with a bad team. I hope his mindset changes. He’s got an arm and he places the ball where he wants it (barring pressure). He has a quick release and knows he’s not there to scramble and make something happen out of nowhere. I like the kid, I hope he balls out this season. LFG RN!

Man he has great ball placement. When he had a good wr in bell he was doing work. He’s really underrated and that’s because “he doesn’t run” but his release is quick and he’s tough.

I like him, and I think he can be a great backup, but I'm not sure I'd start an immobile QB in todays NFL. Love to see him prove me wrong though! Go Raiders! edit: will say I love the clips where he breaks a sack and throws it immediately after because he kept his eyes downfield. Especially behind such a weak o-line, that's a skill that will translate to the next level

He gets the ball out quick, and I think it's better to get the ball out before the defense has a chance to break through the line and chase you down. We've seen mobile QBs be ineffective against a solid defense. I mean, if the answer was always a mobile QB, then Kyler Murray would be winning most of his games (Murray is 25-31-1, by the way).

Nice touch, nice anticipation and accuracy. Went against better teams when he has less talent around him. Keeps his eyes down field and has good feet. Can throw on the run. Maybe not the biggest arm but has enough to play in the pros. Idk guys seems like a solid pick. McDaniels wanted this guy the whole time I think.

I’m really excited for this guy! I hear he’s tearing it up at ota’s. Maybe that’s why McDaniels isn’t worried about garappalos injury

He's got great arm accuracy, a good prospect worth developing under a great team leader like the Jimmy GOAT. Although, my biggest concern is that he's a bit too fat, he needs a diet to get into better shape and drop some of that body fat.
