I find this whole AI invasion into the arts and extremely depressing and dehumanizing development. And I am not even an artist or musician of any kind, I am literally an engineer creating AI based tech. But AI should have had all its focus just on things like healthcare, drug development, solving complex geopolitical issues, dissolving organized crime etc, so all could all have a chance at a peaceful life. You know, Utopia. Instead we silly humans still have war, crippling diseases, abuse and slavery but at least we got rid of artists.

It is very interesting to hear from someone who works in the AI field, and thanks for sharing your thoughts! I totally agree that new technology can benefit humanity when used properly. Using AI to create art may not have as much meaning or impact on society as when it is used in healthcare and scientific development.

@@cinematic.sound.sculptor Thank you for the reply, I love your channel btw, I just discovered it as I am trying to learn a bit of "film scoring" out of interest. I think the impact of the arts in general on humankind is huge, but as you say, AI might not have e so much impact on the world via art. Art is what makes us human and every piece of art, be it music or otherwise, it is always a communication from human to human. From the artist to the one who views or listens to it. If it's not created by humans, it's missing its purpose and soul. AI-generated art can be a cheap, short-term dopamine kick at best. Real art is all about human connection, interaction, and communication on a different plane. AI art is never art, it's good-looking junk at most.

the things is, i'm not interested in hearing what ai can compose. human emotion behind the music is super imporant. ai will never be able to recognize the emotions of modes and dynamics like a human.

The A.I. tool I would want is maybe a plug in for music notation software like Finale or MuseScore, where you feed your sheet music into the A.I. and it spits out a professional, live recording. That would be crazy. edit: But I got to hand it to Udio. It is truly amazing. I really wish I had more control over the melodies, harmonies and orchestration though. Kind of frustrating.

Exactly what I'm dreaming of too! Orchestration is such a tedious work. If there's a software that can orchestrate the melodies we write and we also have some control over the orchestration, that'd be awesome. The problem with AI music makers nowadays is we have less control over what they produce, like you said, the harmonies and instrumentation. Hopefully one day AI will be improved (but in the meantime orchestrators probably will lose their jobs, haha)

Take a look at Suno or especially Udio, results are mindblowing Those are more looking like AI that can replace composers

They're indeed mindblowing, and they're still in the Beta or early release stage, can imagine how good they'll become in 5 years

we need AI to do the household chores so we can focus on our craft, not AI creating music so we can do the laundry and all.
