(Garbage In Garbage Out) I doubt a digital device will be able to correctly interpret the analogue information (parables, metaphors) in which the Bible's knowledge is expressed. The "Test all things" scripture is also given by Paul. (1Thess 5:21) "Prove all things, hold fast that which is good". Thomas tested Jesus at his invitation (John 20:27), and Jesus warned us of false prophets using his name in (Matt7:21-23). Discernment, and reasonable doubt are encouraged by Jesus, even when assessing people who use his name. Faith is powerful, but only honest reasonable doubt protects us against deceivers. Science's practical ethic is honesty, and it's interesting to note that the four Gospels combined have Jesus using the expression "verily I say unto you--" over 60 times. (The word "verily" is archaic for "truthfully" or "honestly" as we say today, so Jesus' clear intention is that we understand the importance of honesty). This made even clearer by the Gospel writer John who records Jesus using a double "verily verily I say unto you--". Although Jesus cannot have uttered a single and a double verily at the same time to the same people, obviously literalism is unhelpful here, and I quite understand John adding an extra "verily" to hammer Jesus' heavily implied message home. I first considered that God might also be a scientist when I was 15. It's a great pity more scientists don't read the Bible, and more Bible students don't study science. I believe Daniel's seventy weeks is misinterpreted. Many think 70 weeks of years is 70 x 7 or 490 years. But the Hebrew word for weeks is shabua which is 7x7 or 49 years. From the time of Daniel, 70 x 49 years turns out to end in 2045. I think this is one hint of the time of the end.

We could always just use the Word of God to tell us when the second coming is. Psalm 90:4 and 2 Peter 3:8 is the key to the life expectancy of this planet. Revelation chapter 20 tells us about the final 1,000 years of this planet before the new heaven and new earth are created. Coincidentally (or not) there have been nearly 6,000 years since Adam. So that must mean we are really close the Millennial Reign. How close? Let's be a little more precise. It seems that there will be 1,000 earth years for each day of creation week. We know that by tracing genealogy, we can map out roughly 2,000 years from Adam to Abraham. Then another 2,000 from Abraham to Jesus. Christ was crucified in 33AD. Could it be 2,000 years from Christ will be his second coming? Did you do the math (2033)? How do we know it's that precise? Look at the sun moon and stars. God set up precise orbital patterns of the earth and moon. Look at the complexity of life. God does not do random. So what if from the day Adam fell, to the day Jesus rose was exactly 4,000 years. That would make sense since we serve a precise God and everything He does is orderly. Here is another clue. The story of the Good Samaritan. Jesus picked us up along the side of the road, broken and beaten. He gave us to the Holy Spirit to care for us, and said when he returns he will reimburse any additional expense.
