@@BassCovers No problem. 😉👍
I remember this when it came out back in the early 80's. I had only begun playing bass around that time and was still plodding. Heard this song in the shop this morning and was blown away by the bass part. Those two runs at 1:49 to 1:53 are sweet. Nicely done, Greg.

Greg Fairweather LOL..Cant believe you missed out on this piece when it was released back in '81. The album only won something like 7 grammys but I forget how old I am. You did a wonderful job sir. I thank you again.
Not sure how I got here, but I got here, and this is now next on the list to learn!

@@BassCovers Got the groove down for the first minute - gotta keep going! The funk is strong with this one.
I would to see a cover of Space Cowboy by Jamiroquai - the original album version is a masterpiece, in my humble opinion! Anyway, thanks for your channel dude, it's a great one I Have just stumbled upon it since I picked up my bass again after a few years hiatus!

Brilliant. As much as I love thunderthumbs I prefer the bass performance on the Chaz Jankel original, I've a funny feeling it's Norman Watt-Roy of the blockheads on bass duties

I'd never heard the Chaz version. I just listened. I found the bass a little under in the mix. Could be my setup? At any rate, the feels sound pretty similar.

Mistake at 0:51: It's C flat, not C sharp (harder to play then...)

Johnson recorded this bassline with a 70s jazz bass. His bass tone always was vinculated to the stingray, but he used Precision Bass, Jazz Bass, Stingray, Sabre, amd Yamaha basses. Nice cover and transcription!!
Very far from the source, not accurate at all, dry. It has nothing to do with what Louis Johnson did. BAD
