And today, we’re going to walk through the process used to create it, but with a different song, which we are using as a fair-use example of how to use these various pieces of software. We’re not playing any piece of a pre-recorded, copyrighted recording.
"Summer Samba" (also known as "So Nice" or its original Portuguese title, "Samba de Verão") is a 1964 bossa nova and jazz standard song by Brazilian composer Marcos Valle, with English-language lyrics by Norman Gimbel; the original Portuguese lyrics are by Paulo Sérgio Valle, the composer's brother.
This video walks viewers through the process of creating a music track featuring sung vocals and harmonies without using any real singers, voices, or musical instruments.
Instead, it leverages artificial intelligence tools, shifting away from more traditional AI generation tools like suno or udio.
We discuss the controversial nature of AI music, shares the methodology behind creating a track with software like Band in a Box, kits.ai, and ACE Studio, and demonstrates how to select musical styles, harmonize melodies, and manage lyrics with AI.
The video also explores generating harmonies within Band in a Box, exporting tracks for vocal manipulation in ACE Studio, and then using Kits for lead vocals, aiming to produce a complete, convincing music track using solely AI technology.

📔 ABOUT BOB DOYLE
We live in a freaking crazy time, don’t we?
Artificial Intelligence has exploded into the mainstream, and reactions are varied, to say the least. But for me? I’m all on board! As a creative, today’s technology allows me to take the skillsets I’ve acquired over a lifetime and use them like never before. Instead of feeling threatened by how rapidly seems to be taking of people’s jobs, I see the technology as a way to foster creativity in far more people than are currently tapping into their creative potential. I believe we are here as humans to create. And for me, it’s not an option. If I’m not creating something, I’m dying inside. So Bob Doyle Media is a showcase of my various outlets of creativity, and you’ll see that AI plays a big role in it. From virtual photoshoots and art and animation creation, all the way to voice cloning and face replacement… I play with all of it, and this is where I share it. If you’d like to work together, please reach out. I’d love to connect and talk about how I can contribute to your project.

I am a songwriter, a lyricist. I have been looking for a partner for years who could do the music for my lyrics. I have found two now; Suno, which I subscribed to and Udio, which I will subscribe to when it goes prime time. I plan on using these with my lyrics from this point on.And any others that come along, because they are only going to get better. I am a retired business owner and cancer survivor so now I have time to concentrate on the music. I appreciate your mentorship in these platforms.

I think you're in the right way, man. I don't know where u leave, (and the copyright law there), but it's important to register your creations (lyrics) and using this "aí partners" you can show your art to the world. It's what I like in this technology. Everyone can show the creations without depending a lot of money or another people. Go ahead!

To generate harmony tracks on separate midi tracks, don't use band in a box, but realband, which comes with band in a box and allows you to do so. Thanks for your tutorial, always interesting and full of ideas

Not a fan of BIAB overall, but for this use case it was perfect. The track came out great and would work nicely as a background track. I like the way it worked for your ending. Good work. Loving your channel.

Is there to a way to offset/shift/time the vocals just a bit so that it sounds a little less robotic sounding? I'm listening with headphones and it's a bit samey samey to my ears, not like a group singing and each singer's part coming out a with the feeling that they are singing but not together but just put together, if that makes any sense. It's still good but it can be a bit better with more tweaking. Love your videos.

Ace Studio is a strong online daw, the daw languages the only issues I have found are the accents on words. I know that's from the training data. This transfers into Kit's vocals badly. I hope later in the updates there is an option to upload vocals I have trained already, but I don't think it will happen. Anyways good work!

This is nothing new. I studied radio and tv in college, and graduated only to find that the equipment at school was antiquated and I had to relearn. I wouldn't worry that your knowledge won't still be valuable. It will. At the end of the day, music is subjective and only the human can decide if it's "good." So directing your skills at working alongside of AI content is necessary, but AI does not negate your education. But just know that happens all the time, and really more than ever. I'm in the AI space. I will take months to learn a technique, only to have it simplified by an app seemingly overnight. I can't let that get to me. It is the way of things. If you want to play in the space, you've got to be willing to create new paradigms on a regular basis.

I tried Ace studio but didn’t want to sound like a Chinese mainlander. Can’t believe they haven’t fixed the sibilance yet. Even when you find an issue with pronunciation in Ace it is impossible to fix it. For instance, in your example “someone” sounds like crumpled plastic with an accent. This tech is so close to being cool.

I think this is cool but also abit sad when musicians themselves promote these platforms by saying things like "no need for a signer, or guitarist I can just do it with Ai" without being cogniscent that this is affecting guitarists and singers. I personally feel we could at least have more candor.

Okay...I'm usually against AI Everything, but I have to say your approach, using AI generation as a starting point to create something (as opposed to some kid in his bedroom clicking a button and posting "hey, lookit at whut I did!") is legit.. and your demo even with it's flaws and glitches sounds pretty good! I wouldn't mind having that complete track on a playlist!

Bob did you feed BIAB with your old sixties recording and have it recognise, isolate and extract the sung melody to recreate it as MIDI? Or did that song So Nice have to be some BIAB predigested component that comes free or paid for with the program? Does extracting the melody to MIDI info automatically quantise it to something mechanical? Or the original resolution survives? And if all of that is so --- does that mean that you can take any original composition of your own, say, and de/re-construct it with new ''musicians'' and ''singers'' using this method? I ask since I have a number of original songs i would like to hear ''produced'' by other ''bands''. Great vid btw, thx!!

  • @BobDoyleMedia

    @BobDoyleMedia

To answer your last question first, YES you can use this with your original songs to rework it like you suggest, but to answer your first question, that particular Band in A Box file came with the melody already input by someone manually - that's something you can do with Band In A Box. So in this case, it was already there, but you can always add it yourself manually. I know that may seem a bit confusing without a deeper understanding of Band in A Box, so sorry about that!
